  1. Not sure why but the link to the facebook group isn't working. If you've been accepted go to facebook and after.com add /groups/HofstraPA2018/ http://facebook.com/groups/HofstraPA2018/
  2. It's totally acceptable to reach out to the school once, maybe twice but definitely refrain from annoying them. Remember to be incredibly nice and professional to everyone because if the lowest ranking employee at the school said that you were rude or unprofessional you can pretty much guarantee they throw your application out.
  3. Once accepted join the FB group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/HofstraPA2018/
  4. Lots of Cali, Oregon, Wash, AZ, CO and UT students at Hofstra, You should reach out to them.
  5. Once you guys are accepted come join the FB page for your class and get to know everyone. It's faculty free and coordinated by your upperclassmen https://www.facebook.com/groups/HofstraPA2018/
  6. Not applying early in a cycle is the number one reason your application won't be seen by 50% of the programs
  7. This year NYSSPA (New York State Society of PAs) is hosting a social media competition for Pre-PA students. Those with the best submissions will have their posts shared by NYSSPA on social media to over 5,000 PA students, PAs and PA Faculty (Admissions boards/program directors). Not to mention that it may be shared by others nationwide. If you want to give it a try you can read the details here https://instagram.com/p/7OWA-9gnmp/.
  8. I believe you just need to show up and pay the fee that day. You can explore nysspa.org/conference to see if there is a way to register just for that. You definitely do not need to register for the rest of the conference. http://www.nysspa.org/system/files/sites/default/files/private/2015%20NYSSPA%20Registration%20Brochure%20Online%20V3.pdf. You can see on page 11 that there is a spot to select this event only. You can always call (877) 769-7722 with questions
  9. At the NYSSPA annual conference there will be a workshop held for Pre-PA students, hosted by many of the faculty members and program directors from the schools in the area. It's a great way to get advice from the insiders on what you can do to get into their programs. https://scontent-lga1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xft1/v/t1.0-9/11880598_834463486674748_6087743120751407410_n.jpg?oh=9f7acd9962f93beae9d0cfbb8040e627&oe=566CC01B
  10. Can anyone tell me the number hours all PA students must complete per core rotation?
  11. Hands down Hofstra. About to be named one of the top programs in the country. Already the best in the area.
  12. Possibly some good tips for the interview process but toward the end you can hear from Hofstra students.
  13. For the last 10 months we've had a bunch of practical exams but now we have an upcoming cumulative exam. This time rather than doing it on classmates it's on actors. It sounds very similar to the USMLE clinical exam. Can anyone suggest ways to prepare for it?
  14. It looks like the student was killed by a cop.
