  1. Anybody reading this interviewing? Also curious if any current students at UNMC have any insights or advice regarding the interview.
  2. Spoke to them today...sounds like at each session they divide up the applicants into definite yes, definite no, and maybe. The definite decisions are informed within a couple of days of the decision. So, there may be a slight advantage to interviewing early. Dec 7 is full already.
  3. I know there isn't much activity on this thread, but anyone have any idea when UNMC contacts applicants?
  4. No, haven't heard anything yet. Submitted the secondary application last week and just waiting now. As understand it, they don't start interviews until December...will probably be a long wait now!
  5. Thanks! Mine was just mailed last week, so I was curious about the general timeframe. Good luck to you!
  6. Ridin, when did your CASPA app get mailed out? How long before you heard something from DMU?
  7. My application was just verified today...now comes the waiting. Fingers crossed.
  8. Just wanted to start a general thread for anyone who is applying to UNMC for this cycle. I'm submitting the CASPA application this week and keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to all!
  9. I was very interested in the program, but won't have all the classes to be able to apply this year. The inconsistency in prerequisite classes from school to school is really frustrating. Anyhow, if I am not able to enroll this cycle, I'd love to apply next year. Good luck to everyone else.
  10. What are your thoughts on an applicant who is applying after a major career change (accounting undergrad, HR Recruiting for 10 years) and HCE? I am applying this cycle and will complete all but one per-req this summer. I have accumulated about 750 hours of experience shadowing, mostly with a physician but also some with a surgical PA. I also was part of a medical mission to the Dominican Republic and did patient vitals, dispensed prescriptions, etc. However, with all of that I still have no paid HCE. Do you have an opinion on how this would be viewed or how I should present myself in a personal statement? Thank you for your time!

  12. Undergrad in Accounting about 15 years ago, so quite a change. Have taken the science classes here at UCF and Valencia. Good science GPA and good GRE scores, but just worried because I will still have a couple pre-reqs to take when I submit my application in August. Also haven't had a job in medicine...some good shadowing hours and volunteer, but no paid HCE.
  13. Wanted to start a thread for general discussion for anyone who will be applying to Nova-Orlando for a 2013 start. I will be applying at the end of this summer to PA schools. Very excited and nervous...my application will have some strengths and some not-so-strong-spots. I feel confident in being able to explain the weaknesses in an interview, but I have to get there first. Any advice from current students/admitted applicants would be welcome here. Good luck to all.
