  1. As I’ve said before. You do not have to be a member of FAPA to donate to their PAC. I am not a member of FAPA and was able to donate using the instructions in mr Burns post. I will not responding to you “questions” anymore. This thread was supposed to be about supporting Florida PAs. I’m sorry it was ruined so you could make about yourself.
  2. I didn’t delete anything. Maybe it was changed just like my “click bait” title got changed. Like I said you can donate to FAPA without being a member. I’ve done it twice now. That’s all this post was about but you had to ruin it and make it about your holier than thou righteousness and professionalism. I’m not at work or representing my true self in a place to discuss lay topics on some website. Looks like I was wrong about AAPA...but still.... Get over yourself and go donate.
  3. Remember you don’t know who you’re talking to either. I just don’t feel the need boast about my accomplishments and contributions on a forum. let’s not act you weren’t being rude earlier when I was simply trying to spread the word. Be honest...would you have clicked on it if you weren’t interested in “scandal”. I posted the same thing a week ago and no one viewed it! YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF FAPA TO DONATE TO THEIR PAC. You don’t even have to be a member of AAPA to support theirs. Don’t believe me? I encourage you to go test it out by going to the FAPA website and donating $100.
  4. This is literally the absolute most vile and selfish thing I’ve ever seen posted. You should be ashamed. As a PA who lives across the country from Florida with friends practicing in that state I posted in support while simultaneously being very involved, including financially to my own states PAC. I can chew gum and walk at the same time. It’s scary that ppl that selfish are out there providing medical care.
  5. I am not Mr Burns and I’m not the president of FAPA. I’m not even in the state of Florida. But I am very active in my owns states association. I do understand that more wins in other states is a win for us all. And yes I am desperate. Aren’t we all? Have u been living under a rock?
  6. You’re right he has nothing to do with me. I posted the same thing a week ago and no one took any interest...same ol apathetic bunch of folks. I’m just trying to spread the word since all ppl care about is scandal. Go support the PAC!
  7. ***Mod edit to remove click bait title*** please I beg you all support. A win for FL is a win for us all!’n US IN FL ARE PUSHING FOR AUTONOMY AGAIN THIS YEAR... IF WE ARE ABLE TO ACHIEVE THIS IT WILL OPEN THE FLOODGATES FOR PA's ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO ACHIEVE THE SAME... DONATE EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A PA IN FL! FROM OUR FL ACADEMY OF PA's PRESIDENT: Hi FL PA Community! Great day today for the Florida PA Community! As promised, our PA Autonomy Bill HB 431 has been made public out of Bill Drafting this am. Please see the comprehensive Bill below. https://www.myfloridahouse.gov
  8. Thanks. I’m not the original poster I copied it from social medial and wanted to spread it around as much as possible
  9. This is from Gregory Burns, MMS, DHSc, PA-C, DFAAPA _______________________________ Hi Florida PA Community. Latest update on our PA Bill (Autonomy Bill). This Bill is very comprehensive but in a nut shell, we are going for autonomy within primary care medical fields. This Bill will also clean up our PA statute/rule language as well. This House Bill and Senate Bill should come out by this Friday with various sponsors (Representative and Senator) attached to it. FAPA will send an notice via email and social media when the Bills become public soon. Starting next week, we

  11. If cideous only put as much time and effort into advocating. Then sitting complaining like seriously it so annoying
  12. Constant inciting fear on an obscure board. I admire the fight and vigor but what are you actually doing to make these changes?? Leadership position in state org? Going on 8 years
  13. Why doesn’t Cideous run for a leadership position with AAPA so they can get some stuff done instead of trolling and stressing all the damn time.
  14. I get most of the emails but unfortunately have only ever worked night shift so it can be tough to make it to some things. I do encourage and remind all my PA friends and colleagues to join KAPA and I’m pretty sure I’m responsible for at least 15 memberships lol. I go to the KAPA conference every year and I donate yearly with my chapter renewal. I however know and understand little about the legislative side of things and feel like I’m under qualified to fill any of those positions...and I think that is the sentiment of A LOT of people. Lastly, I wonder if there is a way to reach non KAPA mem
  15. I am a PA practicing in KY since graduation and I agree it has been rough. I am totally for making membership to KAPA mandatory. The most common response I get when I ask people why they aren’t members is because “they forgot or haven’t gotten around to it”. And the cost is irrelevant. It is reimbursed by employers. These same ppl never forget to Renew their state license or certification fees because they would no longer be able to practice...and they as well are reimbursable by employer. There needs to be a “campaign” of sorts because if I didn’t seek out KAPA on my own I wouldn’t have know
  16. I work in internal medicine as a hospitalist and a student has recently asked to shadow me. I had jump through several hoops for this to happen which ultimately ended in my supervising physician having to sign a form stating that they will "supervise" my shadowing. It was then brought to my attention that PAs do not have a procedure in place in which we are permitted to precept students at all. I was outright told that only Physicians and Nurse practitioners were allowed to do this. Has anyone else come across this issue? How should I go about changing this? This policy seems outdated a
  17. sounds pretty scary if you ask me...being that it could be done online for one.
  18. i was just using EMT as an example to make my point. and I totally disagree with DNP making more than PA for the same role. the DNP does NOT require any more clinical experience, fellowship/residency etc. They have to write a paper and attend a few seminars..pathetic.
  19. I respectfully disagree. Wiping butts and drawing labs does not equate to medical decision making.
  20. I have spoken to another PA that works on days. She was a dietician for 10 years before becoming a PA. They refused to count her healthcare experience. However a new NP with 10 years nursing experience makes more than me as PA with 3 years experience. Who should talk to about this.
  21. Nope NP's are hired the same by the group. Just got my email reponse. I was essentially told I shouldn't be discussing compensation with peers.
  22. As far as I know, we are all hourly employees of the Hospitalist group. No contracts. They do not count any previous medical experience for PAs at all. I have emailed HR for further clarification. But I totally do not agree with being paid less for the same responsibilities with similar experience as an actual provider. Wiping butts and drawing labs does not equal clinical decision making.
