  1. They no longer do a writing assignment, it changed to a group activity. The group activity, at least in August when I went, consisted of groups of 3-4 that were given a "problem" topic and asked to discuss it, develop a plan, etc, without any input from the moderator. It was still a work in progress at that time, and they would try to get as much feedback about it as possible once it was over in hopes of refining it a bit. It was very laid back, just try to be as thorough as possible. Most guide/information forums will tell you to take a CV and other stuff with you, but it is not necessary at
  2. I took my wife and she enjoyed it. There were a handful of significant others and 3-4 moms there as well:)
  3. still several rounds of interviews to go ernie, dont give up yet! Sarah- Thanks. Ill give that a try later. Couldnt make the dinner. It was gonna run pretty late and we had to go get the boys in bed.
  4. Yeah, I was on the elliptical and nearly broke my neck trying to get to the phone!!! Still sinking in for me too, even though I have been planning for it beforehand.... I wonder how we will meet others who make it into our class before school actually starts. I doubt all the applicants are on these forums. Be nice to sorta get to know people before we get going full throttle.
  5. Yes I did. Kevin from Ocala. I think you were in my interview time slot, but its honestly a blur now...names and all :)
  6. Got my phone call this morning!!! Now I can start worrying about other things :P Hope to see more of the people from my interview group again. Good luck to the rest of you!
  7. I'm not a student yet, but as a husband and a father of two young ones, I have researched it quite a bit in preparation. A co-worker who is about to graduate, as well as a current PA that I work with, both gave me very stern advice regarding our spouses during PA school. Both relayed to me the increased marital distress that many of their classmates experienced during the program, and how several even ended up divorced. Basically, remember that your spouse is dealing with just as much stress while you're in school as you are experiencing, and it is going to be extremely difficult for them t

  9. Seriously?? I was so worried about that part. Just got back into town and checked out the itinerary they mailed me and it seems you are correct. Well, one less thing to worry about!

  11. Grats!! I am already "studying" for my interview :) And writing daily, because I found out during an essay test last year that since I do very little lengthy writing by hand that my hand tires quickly and my handwriting degrades fast.....:) I already write like a doctor anyway, I can't afford any further degradation.

  13. woodsters description is pretty much how it was relayed to me on the phone. First round of interviews are taking place 8/29-30, which is about the same time they do them every year now. I "verified" my CASPA application the first week of May, but the process now has changed as they don't seem to use the "rolling" admission process anymore. UF does not receive the mailed copy from CASPA till mid/late June, regardless of how early you had it submitted and verified. They have access to them online as soon as you get it verified, but the hardcopies all go out in bulk (at least the initial batch).
  14. I got my call this morning, Ill be in the first batch of interviews in August! Let the butterflies commence....:heheh:
