  1. I went to ask them about the class changes and even though it messes with your schedule, at least you know your professors are working professionals... still in the game. They bring their work to class, which is a good thing - lots of experience. And you're totally right about using the time to study study study haha
  2. I see. They say for the didactic year it's 8-5 or 9-4, but that it sometimes changes or classes are cancelled at the last minute. But I guess it's like what fyrelight74 is saying, that we're subject to their scheduling.
  3. Hi there! I was wondering if students from other schools could give some insight on their weekly schedules. A couple of schools have told me their schedules are subject to change - is this the norm? For the school, it's because their professors are working PAs who at times get stuck at work. Thanks!
  4. Good point. I guess I'll keep doing research so I know what an average for the area is. I just don't want to miss out on the "best" rate, you know? Are you from NY or out of state?
  5. Has anyone found more information on housing? I searched craigslist and some of the cheapest options were 600-700/month for a room.
  6. I'm still trying to decide which school to attend :saddd:

  8. I was also interviewed March 7th and found out yesterday they are offering me a seat! Maybe I saw you there! (11:30 time slot who wasn't seen until 12...?) Congratulations, by the way :)

  10. Yup, they have accreditation now. Were you accepted? I spoke with a student who was doing his clinical rotations and he was really happy with the program. His preceptor PAs were also confident about his abilities, but we haven't kept in touch so I'm not sure how he's doing now. As for the job search, I think you'll be fine. From their site, it looks like they have many rotation locations and being in NYC you'll definitely see diverse cases (but then again it could just be all chronic conditions haha). Anyhow, as for NOW Touro is fine. I'm not sure what will happen after graduation/passing the PANCE, but who ever knows?! That's the fun, scary part of life.

  12. In really really layman's terms, I would say that accreditation is like the school's license to teach the PA studies. If they lost their license that means they didn't meet the standards that review board set for all the schools. Basically, a school has to be able to teach what the accreditation board lists is necessary for a PA to be able to take the PANCE exam. If you want more technical info, you can check here: http://www.arc-pa.org/acc_standards/ And they might have lost it because of the issue with the purchased certificates.

  14. I dug up some old emails from them about receiving my application and I saw their review process is over in the Spring... We're almost there, and I guess if there was no interview invite it's a No? Sigh. I just want to hear SOMETHING back
