  1. I'm an ER newbie but I've already had a few good ones including... "no complaint: needs a work note" "my hands feel hot and my feet feel cold" and a 93 y/o female with dementia who was brought in for a psych eval after she yelled at her roommate at the nursing home. when i asked her what happened she told me my hair looked nice for the dance, the year was 1957, the president was eisenhower, and she was at the library. I'm sure the social worker enjoyed doing that assessment...
  2. Hey all, I'll be starting my first job as an ER PA in a couple months and I am so excited! I wanted to ask you all....I'm not the most comfortable with ortho problems and was wondering if any of the vets had any suggestions on books/study guides or anything else that can help me out? Thanks!
  3. Hi all, I am graduating from PA school in Chicago area in June but really want to come home to the Constitution State. I've started looking and have some contacts that I sent my resumes out to but there has not been any response. I feel like most of the job openings I see posted online are for experienced PAs. Anybody have any ideas for me in terms of where to apply or how to search? Or know of anyone who would be interested in a new grad? I'm just worried that coming from an out of state program will count against me. Thanks all for your help! :)
  4. Hi all, I am very interested in doing an elective in ICU however my school no longer has an option for one. Just wondering if there was anyone who would be willing to take on a student? Thanks!
  5. I am currently a 2nd year student in Illinois. My preceptor in NW indiana offered me a job and am considering taking it. He told me Indiana is a better state to work in for healthcare and the licensing process is less nightmarish than Illinois (I heard some stories from new grads who still haven't gotten their licensure even after passing the boards in June/July). Can anyone confirm/deny? Thanks for your help!
  6. I know it's a long shot but I got set up there and was wondering what people who went there thought? Did you get to do a lot of hands on stuff or was it overrun with residents/med students? Thanks!
