  1. Congrats on getting in! Our class is mixed in where we live. There are a lot of us who live in Alhambra b/c it's closer and for the most part cheaper rent. There are many who live in the South Pasadena/Pasadena area cause they like the area, better downtown and nightlife that is still relatively close (15-20mins) but a bit more expensive on rent. There are some who commute from downtown LA b/c they lived there before and like there current area and didn't want to move and traffic isn't too bad, but rent is definitely more expensive b/c it's DTLA. There are also those who live in West LA like S
  2. Congrats to those who got in, enjoy the time you have off and travel until school starts! For those who haven't heard, keep your heads up. For those on the alternate list, there were about 10 or so in our class that were from the alternate list so don't give up!
  3. Congrats to those who got accepted, look forward to meeting you. To those that haven't heard back yet, don't fret. The committee re-evaluates interviewees that have not been placed in either the accepted, waitlisted, or rejected groups after every interview so there is still hope. As for facebook, feel free to start your own. Our's is labled as 'USC PA Class of 2016', just do the same but obviously 2017. Again congrats to those who were accepted!
  4. Not sure. A lot of people were at CAPA this past weekend and a lot of faculty will be gone next week for a PA education conference. There's another interviewed scheduled in 2 weeks I believe so perhaps before then?
  5. Acceptances will be delivered by phone call from Dr. Lohenry. Deposit is $500 within 2 weeks of receiving acceptance letter.
  6. Hope everyone's interviews went well, I'm sure you guys killed it. I was one of the 1st year interviewers on the student panel, so if you have any questions, please feel free to pm with any questions. Good luck! - Dan
  7. It's been a long time coming, but after 2 straight years of being waitlisted, I finally get to post in this thread! Undergrad Ed School: University of California, Irvine, Biological Sciences Cumulative Undergrad GPA: 3.06 Science Undergrad. GPA: 2.65 Post-Bacc Overall/Science GPA: 4.0 Cumulative GPA: 3.30 Science GPA: 3.01 Age at application time: 25 1st GRE: 440 (42%) Verbal, 760 (84%) Quantitative, 3.5 Analytical 2nd GRE: 158 (79%) Verbal, 157 (77%) Quantitative, 4.5 (72%) Analytical Direct Patient Care (type & hours): ER Scribe (6500 hrs), EMT (500 hrs), Medical Br
  8. Yeah, I feel you on the money part, such a huge difference with the money and extra 9 months. Great advice I got from one of the docs I work with is to ignore the money and really think which when I'll be happier at and won't have regrets with 10 years from now. Such a tough decision but blessed to be in this position.
  9. I'm in the same position with you, along with a friend of mine. Have a few days left to make a tough decision.
  10. I interviewed the 2nd to last day and got my email last week as well.
  11. Don't lose hope everyone! I'm a re-applicant and got in this year. Got me acceptance on Wednesday like everyone else that has responded so far. As for stats, mine weren't the greatest, I think after undergrad my overall was like a 3.2 and science like a 2.8. I've worked hard at taking additional courses and retaking courses that I did poorly in and have raised my GPA to like a 3.35 overall and science over 3.0. I think what helped me get the interview this year was my overall application due to community service and HCE as a ER scribe, EMT and mission trip. So don't fret if your GPA is low, ev
  12. Had the 'waitlist for interview' email back in like November then got invited the other day. I had scheduled for 3/26 but will be turning it down cause I got into another program. Hopefully it opens up a interview spot for someone else!
  13. I interviewed on the Feb 7th and received a letter today informing me that I'm on the waitlist... more waiting for me I guess lol.
  14. I ended up taking the GRE's over again and got a really solid score and will be interviewing on Friday. So lesson is, if you really want it, then you gotta go the extra step!
  15. This is currently my second year applying, was on the waitlist last year and was basically told my low science GPA prevented me from pretty much being accepted. This cycle looks promising, but again no guarantees. Been invited to 2 interviews so far and I got a rejection from my first interview and will be heading to my second interview after the holidays and will be waiting to hear back from the last few schools I applied to. On the first interview they really drilled me in my low science GPA and even though I've been retaking sciences course I got a C to B- in and getting A's, along wit
