  1. Thanks for the reply. What is the interview like? Do they mainly question your knowlwdge of SC PA law or is it more like a job interview?
  2. Has anyone obtained a SC license? The website says you have to do an interview with a medical board member. Does anyone know if this is mandatory or has anyone done the interview? Thanks!
  3. Has anyone had experience working in a Health Dept as a PA? I'm looking into an opportunity for this and was just curious about what a typical day might be like. Thanks for any advice!
  4. My husband has lost his and my clinic cancelled our health insurance due to inability to afford the group premium.
  5. I've been in FP for 6 years and feel exactly the same way. I still love FP, but am overwhelmed with the expectation to see 25 or more patients a day, increasing paperwork, demanding patients, insurance companies, etc... In fact, I took a break from researching locum tenens jobs, to browse this forum. I'm beyond burnt out. I know this is not a good situation for me, my family or my patients. The physician I work for is near retirement age and I also suffer the guilt of abandoning him at the end of his career. My goal is to stick it out for one more year, due to some family issues and the
  6. The culture is still pending....She has taken Cipro in the past without problems, but just seems like all antibiotics have potential to exacerbate symptoms.
  7. I have a new patient with Myasthenia Gravis and she has tested positive for UTI, culture pending... Any thoughts on antibiotic to use? She says her prior provider was always hesitant to use any antibiotics as patient did not tolerate them well at all. I have not had a patient with this before and I have done some research, just not finding anything helpful. Thanks!
  8. Based on the brochure I received yesterday, it appears that it may now be controlled. Did anyone else get this brochure from Watson?
  9. My understanding has always been that Fioricet without codeine was not controlled and the Fioricet with codeine, of course, was controlled. I know that Fiorinal is controlled. I've talked to several pharmacists in the past about it and they said that regular Fioricet was not controlled. Also, in a current drug guide it is listed as not controlled. Maybe it varies by state? I'm in Kentucky. I'm going to check with one of our pharmacists again.
  10. I just received a brochure in the mail regarding a formulation change for fioricet with regards to reduced acetaminophen. However, it also had Fioricet C-III written in the brochure. They had a separate blurb for Fioricet with Codeine C-III. Anyone aware of this change?
  11. Thanks for your reply. I live and work in a small/rural area and unfortunately there aren't alot of pharmacies. I'm the only PA practicing in this county, the rest are NPs. I'm going to call and speak with the pharmacist again to see what his reasoning is and also plan to call the insurance company....
