  2. Let me guess. You work for EmCare are HCA hospital. I have no idea how they come up with 60 minutes. I just do my best and time stump my chart when I pick up and discharge patients. I no longer worry about things beyond my control. If it takes one hour for xray or the RN takes another hour to actually discharge patient after I discharge, this is not my problem. 5. I was approached by a chiropractor to perform DOT exams in her office. There is no MD medical director in her clinic. Will I be violating any rules if I do it? I do DOT exams at my other part time urgent care job. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  7. Working in Ethiopia would be amazing. As far as adjustments, you would have no problem. There are great international schools for kids and you can find everything you can think of especially if you live in the capital Addisababa. By the way how do you find jobs like this? 11. Ok speaking of solo coverage, from business point of view, do you guys think it is smart to take all the risk of malpractice that the doctors take while earning possibley 3x your rate I get the point of having that autonomy and helping the underserved. I am strictly looking at from business aspect Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  12. Agree. The EM people have 3 hours and no info to start the care with but the hospitalist has 3 days and some info based on the ED work up. Just the nature of the specialities. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  13. And I quickly said " you can see the Dr but you will have to come back another time when he is here" and I gave her a choice and informed her that I have other patients eagerly waiting to see me. She immediately stop fussing and let me see her. Ofcourse I tried to educate her what a PA is Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  14. Just few days ago, I walked in to a patient's room and introduced my self as a PA and patient said " I paid 20$ copy and not even going to see a Dr?" Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  20. As most of you know by now, Hydrocodone is C2 and I can't write for c2 in my state. My DEA is due for renewal and I am considering letting it expire. Would you pay $700+ just to be able to write Tramadol and Tylenol3? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  21. As far as safety, I remember one instructor telling us that working in prison system is less dangerous than working in the ER. Anyone has seen the research? Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

  23. We are also pressured to discharge the quick ones from triage and see everyone with in 10 minutes of their arrival. This also includes patients arriving via ambulance. In addition to arrival to greet time, they track arrival to first order time. Overall, this is my least favorite part of my job. It seems that every hospital is heading this way and we must learn to deal with it. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
  24. I know what you mean. I always dread these shifts. When you have to briefly talk to almost 100 patients per shift in triage. In addition, I always feel bad when I interrupt patients in the middle of conversation. Pts think that you are the provider who takes care of them and want to tell you the entire story. 25. Overall positive. Most importantly, no apostrophe in assistant. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
