  1. Here it is guys, click "LIKE" and join our page to keep up with the most up-to-date info pertaining to WFU PA program. https://www.facebook.com/WakeForestUniversityPhysicianAssistantProgram Drop a comment below if you have any suggestions/inquiries/etc...
  2. i'm still stuck on the reactive arthritis (can't see, can't pee, can't climb a tree) :)
  3. We've been short on Compazine, Reglan, and now Toradol as well. Seems like all of the good Non-narcotic meds are in shortage, which is frustrating. I don't like using Phenergan IV as there has been known cases of tissue necrosis. BTW, has anyone has any experience with Ofirmev, acetaminophen IV injection. Perhaps this may be another option to treat mild-moderate pain the way we use Toradol.
  4. do you mean differential diagnosis? Good point on "cough" and "fever" vs URI.
  5. i would be interested in seeing Press-Ganey score on an ER that sees 500 pts a day as well.
  6. i would consider performing an MRI/MRA of brain and head to rule out posterior circulation stroke in a patient with vertiginous sxs. CT scan may not be adequate enough for evaluation.
  7. Great posts. I will try hard to implement opiate alternatives in the treatment of chronic pain in my practice.
  8. No one will promote the profession of PA more passionately than PAs. If we do not advocate our profession, then who will?
  9. the Challenge Bowl was definitely one of the highlight of IMPACT conference. How did you enjoy Capitol Connection this year? I went last year and really enjoyed it.
  10. cancer is definitely on top of my list of DDx. Others are drug induced nephropathy, or anticoagulant (clopidogrel, ASA) use.
  11. If you were to visit AAPA website, under the News & Publication section, you can see a picture of several Wake's PA colleagues posing next to Representative Karen Bass at the recent CORE event. We are doing a great job bringing exposure to our program on the national stage. Isn't it exciting? http://www.aapa.org/news_and_publications/pa_pro_now/item.aspx?id=4060

  13. The national PA organization AAPA recently released a promotional video highlighting our profession. In it, you can see current AAPA president Robert Wooten (WF c/o 81) talked about our profession. You will see several snapshots highlighting PA members including a few of us (shameless plug). Bowie Tran, Brock Phillips, Josh Newton from c/o 2011, Reamer Bushardt (current director), Sue Reigh (instructor), Dawn O'Reilly and Jessica King from c/o 2012. Check it out and share the video with your friends/family to educate them about our profession.
