  1. Hello everyone, I wanted to share with everyone my experience with Elon. I applied for their program in the spring of 2021, I interviewed in January 2022 and was waitlisted. I basically accepted defeat and applied again this cycle. A week or two ago I got an email from Elon saying something to the effect of, it is unlikely that a seat will become available for the incoming class that starts in January but are you still available to be pulled off the waitlist? I responded quickly…. Two days ago I got a call that I have been accepted off the waitlist to start in January!! So this is your reminder to be patient because the application process for this school is long but we’ll worth the wait!!!
  2. This is such a nice response, thank you. After every waitlist it gets easier and easier to bounce back, I just have put so much into this and have basically no return on my years of hard work. I have two more interviews to go so I will be sure to use the suggestions that you mentioned. Thank you again, this cheered me up a little!
  3. This is my second year applying to PA school, my first year I got 2 interviews and got waitlisted to both programs. This year I got 5 interviews, exciting right? - short answer is no....... I have gone to 3 interviews so far and have been put on 2 waitlists, 1 I haven't heard back but know they have accepted other students. I have 2 more interviews coming up but I don't feel great. I have done a few mock interviews with a PA from my PA platform, my friend and bf and have improved from my first interview of the cycle ( I think) but I am just so confused as to what I am doing wrong. I reached out to the program that most recently waitlisted me and asked for feedback. I am frustrated at this point, am I even going to get in? - A discouraged applicant
  4. Two of the current students posted saying that the faculty had poor conduct and they were struggling to succeed in this program
  5. Yeah I was put on the waitlist, if you haven’t heard back yet that is a good sign!! Good luck
  6. Can someone explain why it says that this program is hybrid on CASPA? Is the program in person?
  7. That is so wonderful to hear! I will make sure to put my best foot forward for the interview process. Thank you for your input
  8. Most schools give a 2 week waiting period after interviews for admission decisions.
  9. I am interviewing on September 12, is there any chance I could get accepted or is the class probably full?
  10. Your stats are relatively good, I suggest having really great PCE but you have a lot of hours. If you write a good personal statement I think you will do fine.
  11. If someone could shine light on my situation it would be so helpful. Last year I was put on the waitlist for a program that I interviewed for late in the cycle (January). This year I am interviewing for a program that has been doing interviews and had already accepted applicants since June. My interview is in September and I am concerned that I am interviewing after so many interviews have been done. Realistically, are my chances of getting accepted lower because I am interviewing so late? Note: they do admit on a rolling basis but I finished my application 1 week after they opened. Any insight would be helpful, I just want to manage my expectations on my upcoming interview. Thanks in advance!
  12. How long after the interview did you get accepted?
  13. If your GPA is over 3.0 and you are eligible to apply then you always have a chance! There were a few schools who asked to explain any bad grades so you have the opportunity to explain your grades then. As long as you have an upward trend and have a good explanation for your bad grades as well as As in the classes that matter you have a chance.
  14. Thank you so much for sharing your experience... Many of the things that you are sharing are concerning to me as an applicant. I really hope that you and your fellow classmates make an effort to report this to the ARC-PA so that this program can be investigated.
  15. Hey! I'll be interviewing with you on August 5th -Aimee
  16. I have research experience and my former PI is one of my letter writers. He knows me better than any other professor and can write a strong letter. Also some schools include a research project so having that experience is a good thing!
  17. I would not recommend using the same PS from last year, I understand if you got interviews but if you're applying to the same schools they don't want to see how you have improved from the previous year. Of course it is your choice, I would also be sure that your PS focuses on WHY you want to be a PA and also include your improvements from the previous application. I got 2 interviews and 2 waitlists last cycle and completely rewrote my PS, although I did keep one paragraph and just reworked it. Good luck!
  18. If a school doesn't look at GRE scores I doubt they will take them into consideration just because they are on CASPA. Just my guess
  19. I started by getting my CNA license through my local community college (7 week summer program $1500) and started working at the hospital. It was not the best PCE but it was adequate and a collogue of mine got accepted (it also allowed me to find shadowing/Letters of rec). After a year I transferred to the emergency department where I get great experience, I place IV and Foley catheters, draw blood for labs and cultures, CPR and EKGs. This is the best experience I could ask for, although many of the people in the ED are trained as EMTs so I am not sure if you can start here directly as a CNA. I agree with the above comment about focusing on school if you can because GPA is equally as important as PCE if not more! Good luck!
  20. I was waitlisted to their program as well! It was unfortunate news but I am preparing to reapply!
  21. I would say you have a good chance! I am interviewing and if hypothetically I get in I am still reapplying so I could get into another program and a spot would open up. I would stay hopeful but prepare to reapply. Good luck! Keep your head up!
  22. Yes! I am interviewing on March 8th and there were 3 other dates in March and April!
  23. Congratulations to those who have been accepted!! After my interview I was put on the waitlist. So I am staying hopeful Good luck to those who still have yet to interview, wishing you all the best!
  24. I interviewed yesterday and it really was a good experience! They help you feel comfortable answering questions and opening up! Good luck to you!!
  25. Last year people started hearing back about interviews on 9/18... so I think we might have to wait a few more weeks!
