  1. Hello, new clinical rotation student here! I saw the pinned 'clinical advice' forum was from 2005 so I wanted to start one fresh. I would love if people could drop their best advice (ex. advice per specialty/ rotation, comfortable business professional shoes, pocket books to get, EOR advice, skills to definitely have perfected, how to make a good lasting impression, etc). Any and all advice you think of is appreciated! Thank you so much
  2. Hello! I wanted to start a discussion about student loans and ask how you have (or are currently) paying them back. I've heard a range of stories such as asking jobs to match what someone pays to their loans, working a 2nd job part-time and devoting that money to only for loans, and doing the 10 year public service forgiveness. I am currently a student in PA school and know my school will cover this topic extensively before I graduate but I wanted to ask the actual people - what did you do? what would you change? what advice do you have for paying back loans? Looking forward to hearing all your experiences!
  3. Hopefully! Unfortunately I have not found any preceptors yet but I am still hoping I will.
  4. Hello everyone! I am in my 2nd semester of PA school and am in search of preceptors in my area. I live in Greenville, SC and currently commute to Hendersonville, NC for class which is about 40 minutes each day. Because of this, I am really hoping to find preceptors closer to home. I am currently in search of any preceptors in Greenville, Travelers Rest, Greer, Mauldin, Easley, Powdersville, Taylors, and really anywhere in the north west South Carolina area! If you or anyone you know is interested in taking on a PA student who is super eager to learn and be in the upstate area, please let me know! Thank you so much.
  5. thanks!were you able to bring your laptop/ whatever you used for digital notes during your rotations and use it?
  6. Hello! I am currently in my didactic year of PA school and had a question for all of you who have made the transition to clinicals (and even beyond that!) already. Although right now Im just focusing on getting through this 2nd didactic semester () , I was wondering how you prepared all of your notes/ information from didactic year to study from during clinicals. I know that in clinical year is constant reviewing/ studying, but I was wondering if anyone had specific techniques of organizing all of the didactic notes? A girl in my cohort prints all her study guides/ notes for each test into a big binder that she plans to study each night. Another said they have all their notes on google drive and will study from those at night and at the hospital/ rotation. Someone said they handwrote flashcards all year so far and will bring those. Does anyone have any recommendations of what actually worked for them? Just feeling lost and want to prepare myself the best I can with my materials. Thank you for any/ all of your help

  8. Hello I will be attending Wingate in August and was wondering if someone could help me with 2 questions I had. Is the first year orientation on the main campus for both campuses? I am enrolled for the Hendersonville campus and wondering if we will have one on our campus instead. Also, I will be staying in Greenvile (South Carolina) rather than living in Hendersonville. In my interview they kept telling me I could live in Greenville and commute and then do my clincal hours there. Do they have connections to place me in Greenville hospitals or would I need to find my own doctors here to be placed with? Not sure if anyone knows the answers to these but just thought I should ask just incase!
  9. same! has anyone made a facebook group for hendersonville yet?
  10. when hearing back about an interview, did you guys receive your results via phone call or an email?
  11. Also, would anyone who has interviewed already like to offer any details about format?? I know there is MMI and interview, but wondering if someone could offer other insight! Goodluck to everyone
