  1. I am assuming that as well unfortunately. I guess more waiting on our part still! I hope they take a good amount of PA students this year.
  2. Has anyone heard any news yet with credit checks? I emailed them and someone responding saying most of who are selected will hear back by September and some October at the latest.
  3. Does anyone know if they run your credit through equifax or transunion? I remember seeing equifax but was just curious!
  4. @dukkulisur Thank you so much! This was actually super helpful because I could not figure out how much of an actual percentage of PA's actually got selected! Wow that is quite low, I have heard they tend to favor MD's so that makes sense. I couldn't agree more, we got in to PA school which is the hardest obstacle yet!
  5. Does anyone know if their is a certain amount of spots allocated for PAs, MDs, dental, etc. or is it just as many of each as they want to select? Side note, my status also changed to "under review", I am assuming ours will all stay that way unless we become a finalist. Also- who else is super nervous/anxious?!

    VA HPSP 2020

Just got my rejection email today, got my referred email on May 1st and was notified today about not being selected. Definitely bummed out but I wanted to do the NSHC scholarship anyways so hopefully I have a shot at that! I am a first year PA student and asked for two years of funding. Good luck to the rest of you!

I also got an email that I was referred to the selection committee today! It said that for the PA scholarship the status will be updated and you will be notified within 60 days if you are selected, alternate, not selected. Good luck to everyone!

I was just worried since they extended the deadline all the way until June so thankfully it is rolling!

I emailed Scott today asking about if the selection will be rolling or if we will have to wait until June 5th now since the deadline was extended. He told me they were make rolling selections. So officially can confirm they will be making rolling selections this cycle.
  11. Hey there! Glad you started this, I submitted my application about two weeks ago!
  12. Hi there! I will be applying for the scholarship for this cycle (2020) and starting my PA program in July. I have my academic LOR writer chosen already but am stuck between a Physician practicing women's health within primary care and a Physician Assistant practicing family medicine for my non-academic LOR. I did a summer internship under the PA and we worked with underserved communities BUT this PA is pretty flakey and has a history of insurance issues, etc and I am not sure how great his letter would be in this situation. The Physician is super trustworthy and I have known him a very long time and know that he will for sure write a great letter for me but am worried since he does not have experience with underserved communities. I am trying to be as competitive as possible of course so was hoping to get some insight! If anyone has advice- I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
  13. Yes! I received the same exact email mentioning that they were still doing interview invitations and that my application was under consideration.
  14. Hey Yall! I just wanted to leave some hope and positivity here because I more than understand how stressful it is waiting! I was accepted into UTMB's program last Tuesday and I interviewed with the October 25th session and as far as I know I was the only one accepted two weeks after my session and not the direct week after like the others that got accepted from my session. So those from the November 1st session, don't lose hope yet and our facebook group only has about 50 students in it at the moment and some of those students are current students in the program right now. They could also be doing things different this year and be sending out mass acceptance emails after all of their sessions are done like most schools tend to do. So if most people are on the facebook page, they still have about 30-40 spots since they usually accept close to 90. Just wanted to give everyone that information and hopefully it provides some relief and hope to yall! Stay strong and positive
  15. Gave up my interview spot for November 11th this afternoon at 12 pm due to attending another program. Good luck everyone, hopefully they send an invite out to someone!
  16. I just sent a request to the facebook to join! My name is Jordan Minugh
  17. My status got updated to admit on Mystar this morning when I checked at 11:30 am! Received the email shortly after I checked around 11:45 am. I interviewed at the 10/25 session!
  18. It is MMI! I am not sure about much other than that. @KatD11
  19. @Whoop2018 I haven’t seen anything yet for me. I just know that the people accepted from the past interview sessions saw their Mystar update a few hours before they got an email. I don’t think anyone from our session(10/25)has heard anything back quite yet
  20. Ugh not yet! I have been anxiously waiting all day because most in the past sessions got their emails around noon and my star was updated around 10 am. I am thinking it will be tomorrow for us since we had the biggest session, must be taking them longer.
  21. I am wondering the exact same thing! ^ If anyone could update us if that's happening that would be amazing.
  22. That’s actually super helpful advice! Thank you for that, I really appreciate it.
  23. I haven't done an MMI yet but will be doing one soon at UTHSCSA! I have just heard they can be scary but I feel like it could depend on the person. I personally really like how UTMB did the one on one because the professors are very relaxed and welcoming so it felt like more of a conversation with them! I also feel like they were truly trying to get to know you more as a person based off of the things they asked and it felt like more personable because of that.
  24. No! It is two one on one faculty interviews that are around 15 minutes each. Way more relaxed than MMI!
