  1. I would ask to talk to the other NPs in the practice to get to know them and get a feel for how much derm experience they have and how invested they would be in helping to train you. Ask if there is a plan for the 8 week training period. Ask how their training was like. Ask to shadow the practice. I don't have a good answer on the 1099 thing. I'm new to this as well.
  2. Late response, but I'm a 1st gen student who graduates from PA school in 3 months! Most of my classmates come from at least middle class backgrounds. They have parents, other family, family friends, etc who are highly educated professionals. My family mostly wavered between middle and low income (low income in the past decade). My mom never graduated HS and my dad got his GED. I had to learn about fin aid, applying to college, and everything in between with limited help, but I think it helped me become a stronger and more resourceful person. I did get emotional support though. My husband
  3. Some students have been on there since several months ago, depending on when they got accepted and finished their acceptance paperwork. If you haven't received a link yet, I'd double check your email and then inquire about it.
  4. Hi @slimeszn Yes, there is a dedicated FB group for your incoming class as well as a group for all of the current and past students. You will be sent invites to the groups if you haven't already. The FB groups and Instagram page are all student-led. Link to Instagram page (please follow!)
  5. Hi, I'm a current student. The interviews last year were quite laid-back. The faculty are especially nice and personable people with good senses of humor. They want to get to know you, and also want you to ask them questions to see if they are the right fit for you. I'd make sure to research the program well, and think of questions you'd like to ask them.
  6. I received an interview invite for the St. Pete campus on Tuesday which I declined because I have accepted an offer to attend USF. CASPA submitted late July and verified early August. Good luck everyone!
  7. I have similar stats and got a rejection email yesterday. I submitted my application July 30th. I was thankfully accepted to my first choice. Congrats to those who got in!
  8. I received an interview invitation the other day but declined it because I've been accepted to my first choice program. Good luck everyone!
  9. I interviewed on 10/29 and received an acceptance call on Friday morning!
  10. You answered every question perfectly, thank you!
  11. Could anyone please tell me: How many people interviewed at once? How long did the two interviews last? Whether the tour of the school of medicine was for PA applicants vs. a general tour for applicants to all programs? I'd very much appreciate it!
  12. Congrats! That must have been a looooong weekend.
  13. I just got a denial email. I did submit my application the day before the deadline, however.
