  1. You are so close to accomplishing your goal! Don’t give up. You obviously have a fabulous application because you got an interview. My suggestion would be to prepare yourself now to submit your next application immediately after CASPA opens in the spring. That could be all it takes—getting an early consideration with one more year’s experience, and showing how much you want it.
  2. As soon as you get the interview invite you can schedule them online, then the interviews are 2-3 weeks later. At least that was how it was for rounds 1 and 2.
  3. I got the call about an hour ago—MST. This was my third CASPA cycle and I can hardly believe this is happening! I bet there will be more calls tomorrow and next week. Don’t give up hope! I was washing up from dinner, had completely forgotten about Yale for about an hour and then my phone rang. Crazy. So humbling... so grateful.
  4. The applicants who interviewed in the most recent round, who are still waiting to hear back about acceptances, etc., all went under review between mid-May and mid-June. Interview offers were sent out the week of June 22. There have been multiple weeks when rejections went out to those who had not been asked to interview, so the fact that you haven’t heard is probably a good sign. They have mentioned that they have many more applications than ever before, so the review process is taking 4-6 weeks, which is what they told @ScullyAMA If you want the official “under review” confirmation, I recommend reaching out again to your counselor. They will understand that you just want to know where you are at in the process.
  5. I got home from work, thinking I am probably not getting a call at all, readjusted my expectations, and then I logged in here and it looks like radio silence so far for today? Getting more nervous as time passes!
  6. I am so sorry to hear about the bad news for so many today. I could be in the same boat here soon, and I have been there in previous cycles. For those who can't apply to any other programs it is especially difficult. If you feel discouraged and wonder how you have worked so hard for so long to be at what feels like a dead end, just remember that other opportunities will open up and that you will be more prepared to grab them and continue making a beautiful difference in the world. My heart goes out to you. I could very well find myself in need of a pick me up later this week as the post-interview decisions come out...
  7. Deja Vu? I feel as if I already read this exact response (from bersabeh) days ago. So glad we don't usually have to deal with stuff like this in the forum.
  8. I got a big electric hedge trimmer for my birthday and am going to get creative with my shrubs. I could enjoy a good Edward Scissorhands style... I might take a page from @emilymuff's book and practice talking through my experiences in medicine in preparation for my interviews. Give the neighbors a little something to talk about...
  9. I also got an invitation early this morning to interview! What a relief! @mands It won't be long now! It is a real shame we won't be able to meet each other in person on an interview day, but I know I will be more comfortable and focused in my own home interviewing over Zoom!
  10. Tuesday! And for me, this is the year described by many as, shall we say, the crest of the hill? Hoping someone is old enough to understand that reference. Personally, though, I am looking forward to a very long upward slope for a few more decades and eventually I will go out in a blaze of wild gray glory! Life is a great adventure and I am happy to be living it. Quarantine birthdays, as people seem to be calling them, do seem strange. Anyone celebrated one that was better than normal??
  11. @mands @AceYoung Mine is next week as well! Let us all please receive our birthday wish!
  12. Second hand info, but another member of this forum said a couple weeks ago that as long as you submitted to CASPA by June 1, then it would still be considered priority as long as everything is verified and the fee received by the end of the month. Hopefully, the person who came with that info can confirm.
  13. Just surfacing for air now! I had my Bio-organic Chem final yesterday and although it was crazy doing that for 4-6 hours everyday for 7 weeks, it did offer a HUGE distraction for me while waiting to hear about an interview invite. First of all, I want to say congratulations to everyone who was accepted!! You will be fabulous classmates for everyone else who gets in. It is crazy what a fast turnaround Yale Online has with their priority decision period. When I applied last year to a school that did not do rolling admissions, there was a three month wait before I got an interview invite, and another month before the interview. Enough time to tuck it away into a corner of my mind and forget about it for awhile! I got the email on June 2 that my application is under review. I know there are a bunch of others who got an email earlier than that, who are also still waiting to hear about interviews. Hopefully next week! Good luck to everyone who interviewed but hasn't heard back yet!! I know how that feels! It is probably worse than waiting for the interview invite! Considering all the hard things happening in our world, as well as our waiting patiently for news from Yale, I think I can already say....
  14. I am in Utah, also! And I have three daughters similar in age to your oldest three! Good luck with everything! Did you apply to any of the Utah schools?
  15. @emilymuffHave you heard anything yet?? I might have missed a post... I got an email this morning that mine is under review.
  16. I am currently finishing bio-organic chem and will be finished mid-June.
  17. I am not this year, I had to update mine for new classes and they used Parchment. But on my previous cycle I had to send one via snail mail and that was in late July and it still didn't take more than a week and a half to get them in and verified. How long have you been waiting?
  18. That makes me so happy! Your kids sound fabulous! I feel the same way with mine and I am so grateful!
  19. I think it is so valuable as a parent to be able to attend a PA program that allows you to remain in the community where your support system is. The curriculum is going to be a huge challenge and how nice to know that the kids are well-adjusted and thriving while we are scrambling to cover everything! I am rooting for you as well! I hope someday we will meet! I felt so anxious going into my interview (with the U) last year. I was there for ten hours and ending up doing 10 interviews (mini or regular) and an exam throughout a day interspersed by a few long periods of downtime. It was rough! I met amazing people, but in the end I didn't get a spot. Yale's interview process should be so much more straightforward. My best advice for interviewing is practice speaking answers to the basic questions. It seems like it will be easy to articulate your experience, or motivation, or journey, but really those can be complicated things and it is very hard to sum up in an organized way the things that are extremely important to you. By practicing it, you can filter out the distractors, tangents, etc. that like to pop up when the pressure is on! I got my second evaluation submitted, so it's all on me now! Eager to hear what happens for all of you early submitters!
  20. Hey there, everyone! I am finishing up the supplemental application and waiting for one more evaluation before submitting hopefully next weekend. You have created a very positive, supportive group here! Otherwise, I probably would have read for info and not posted! I hope to have you all as classmates! I applied and was interviewed at the University of Utah last year, but wasn't offered a spot. It is really hard to be limited on PA school options based on geography. That is a huge reason why I love Yale's program and format. I imagine a lot of you are in the same boat as me, either can't commit to where you will be for 3 years, or unable/unwilling to uproot your families from your homes to fulfill your dream of being a PA. Am I wrong?
  21. Congratulations, y'all! That is so exciting! I have my interview on Friday! Trying to reign in my nerves...
  22. Ditto on the MMI! I had a superficial look at the website, but didn't see anything about MMIs. When Doris said resources can be found online, maybe she meant generally.
  23. I got an interview for 11/22. Looking forward to meeting everybody! This was my second year applying. Last year my patient care hours were quite a bit below average, but I decided I didn't have much to lose, so I submitted. I didn't get an interview, but afterwards I got a lot of feedback and encouragement from people in the field. My focus was on writing a better statement, getting more patient care hours, and taking a couple classes for other programs' prerequisites.
