Hello I am planning to work as Direct Support Professional until I finish EMT training and find EMT job.
Below will be my job responsibility:
Working in a residential/group home and/or day services setting
Interacting in a manner that promotes respect and learning, supports goals, follows the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
Communicating with team members through daily verbal and electronic reports on progress and daily activities of those enrolled in the program
Monitoring and administering medication
Prompting or assisting with personal care activities including showering and toileting
Utilizing de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques (training provided)
Accompanying people on medical appointments, recreational outings and vocational activities.
Can I count that as patient contact hours? Please let me know.
