  1. Wow! What an incredible offer from CSUMB students!! Thank you! I would love to take them up on it, but seeing as how I live locally that seems unfair.
  2. Awesome! Very exciting! Anyone else interviewing 9/5/19 @ 8:30am???
  3. *sorry all! I realized I made a grammatical mistake on my first post- for those of you messaging me, I have not other information to offer. Of course I wish that it did.... but I have posted what I know at this time. This past weekend I have a quick interaction with the interim admissions director at the UCD Pre-Health Conference. I was NOT able to get any specifics but he did tell me that this year’s application process is totally different. I realize this isn’t super helpful, but it does mean that we can’t assume the pattern from last year’s applicant experience still holds true today. For those you you invited already, congrats!!! For those of us waiting and hoping you may like to hear that spots continue to open up. One current student i talked to said she was invited to join the program three weeks before its start date! (She had been interviewed and waitlisted prior to that). Let keep on working hard and doing our best!
  4. Hello, I am wondering if any current UCD PA students could share their experience of the program? I spent my first year of undergrad at UCD and ended up transferring out my second year due to feeling overwhelmed and lost in a large school. I am concerned that may be the case for me again with their PA Program and would appreciate any insight on someone’s personal experience as a program attendee. Thanks for your time and consideration, Lindsay
  5. Hello everyone, I received the following response from UCD: Dear Lindsay, Thank you for your interest in the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. We do not send confirmation emails, as applicants can review the status of their application and materials on their CASPA dashboard (the application will move from an In Progress > Received > Complete > Verified status). Please see CASPA’s Help Center for more information. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We will be in touch with all applicants by the end of November about whether they have been invited to move on in our admissions process. While CASPA applications are not reviewed on a rolling basis, interview invitations will be announced on a rolling basis. Warm Regards, Michelle Ho The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing Admissions Team http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/nursing I hope this information helps!
  6. Besides the verified status on CASPA, no. A week ago I emailed UCD asking if it’s possible for them to confirm receiving my application and what the expected timeline for applicants might be over the next 8 months. No word yet- will post if I hear anything. In the meantime though, I’m still using last year’s applicants posts as a guide. Hoping to start hearing from UCD in the fall (of course waiting is so hard!).
  7. From what I gathered reading through the last years applicants posts, it looks like interview invites went out around Sept/Oct, letters December and some people may be still accepted off the waitlist this month. However, this is my first application cycle so I do not know from personal experience. Maybe someone can shed more light on the situation?
  8. Thanks Ket131! I have spent a lot of time on the this thread and I think has been very helpful!
  9. Hello there! Any one else planning on applying to UCD's PA Program in May 2018? Here are some of the things I'm thinking about and working on (as a first time applicant): How to tour or meet any staff at the program as a prospective student... (since there are no formal events hosted by UCD). Creating a successful personal statement that ties together an eclectic background... (I'm a nontraditional student with the minimum of medical/patient care experience). Which professionals I want to have write recommendations for me... (definitely a professor, a practicing PA, and optionally a doctor at the same clinic as the PA, a PA I was a patient for and then shadowed, or a doctor at another clinic that I haven't worked as closely with). Anyone want to weigh in or share what you are contemplating?
