  1. Congrats to those who got accepted. I'm part of the class of 2020 and just passed my PANCE recently. Just wanted to say that you made a great decision to come to Pacific. The professors are all great and truly want everyone to excel. If you have any questions at all feel free to message me.
  2. Personally, I wouldn't get the medic certification. It's a big time and money investment for something that would be viewed as the same experience as basic certification by adcoms. The pay isn't much better than a basic, at least in my area. However, if you can get on a fire department it would be worth it.
  3. I've been an EMT for 2 years. My advice to you would be to try your hardest to get a PCT/ER tech (they're the same thing) position. Your back will thank you and you'll probably learn a lot more working in a hospital than in a pre-hospital setting. You'll get to interact with higher level health care providers and learn from them, while you're pretty much on your own in EMS. I think CASPA has MA as HCE, so I wouldn't recommend it if you already have your EMT-B, although hospital positions do tend to pay more than private EMS. I've worked at several ambulance companies and the pay was barely abo
  4. I think you should include that this is your second time applying but not necessarily that you were waitlisted. Go into detail about what you did with the extra year and how that has made you into a better applicant than you were last cycle.
  5. Will you be applying this cycle? The only thing holding you back is the lack of PCE, but then again, you can apply to schools that don't require PCE. Other than that, just make sure you write a great personal statement.
  6. I have a question for current students. When do you apply for grad plus loans? I see that only the 2017-2018 application is currently up.
  7. Got a rejection letter in the mail today. Bummer, but I got accepted at my top choice already so there's that. Good luck to everyone else.
  8. Cancelled my interview for 11/17 since I got accepted into my top choice. Best of luck to everybody!
  9. I've read from others that they rank the candidates after going through your application and the interview determines whether you move up,down, or stay in the same spot in the rankings.
  10. At the information session, they said that you would either get accepted, rejected, or put on committee hold after the interview. After getting put committee hold, you'll get accepted or waitlisted after the other interviews dates are done since they want to be fair to those in later interview dates.
  11. Got an acceptance email just now! This was my number one choice. I look forward to possibly seeing you guys next year. Good luck to those with future interviews!
