  1. Guys, he prescribes fluconazole 100mg once daily x 7-10 days for run-of-the-mill vaginal candidiasis, after I repeatedly told him it only takes one 150mg, maybe another in 3 days. It's just in one ear and out of the other.
  2. Hello all. I need some help navigating a situation at work. I am a new grad working primary care with one other PA (my boss) who has been in practice for 7 years. We share a collaborating physician, but we live in a state where the MD/DO merely needs to be in phone call distance for questions. I've been here for 9 months and I haven't once seen him at the office, and only spoken to him twice. My colleague defines "subclinical hypothyroidism" as having normal thyroid levels in the presence of fatigue and/or weight gain. I've never seen so many people in their 20s and 30s (and even children at t
  3. I didn't know they had an alternate list last year. Do you know if anyone was chosen from it? And no, I haven't heard anything yet ?
  4. Anyone get their credit checked yet?
  5. Same, I got the alternate email as well. I don't know who would turn it down but I hope they do! lol I wonder if they apply for more funds? Anyone know if anyone from last year's alternate list got chosen?
  6. Sammy, how were you contacted? Snail mail, email, or phone?
  7. Anyone else hear anything? I was referred on but have not heard anything else yet. Congrats on those who were notified!
  8. Hi, ya'll. What do you think about the Stafford Loan limit of $20,500? MPH and MHA have higher limits (around 30k I believe) and are able to work while getting their masters degree and many doctoral programs have a limit upwards to $40,000. Should we have a higher limit?
  9. Thanks for the advice, ya'll! It is definitely the fiber but I can't afford to cut back on it. I actually have to take fiber supplements in addition to my eating TONS of veggies all day or else I will only have bowel movements once a week accompanied with painful bloating. My mother and sisters have similar irregularities. I'm definitely willing to give up the fiber gummies if I can find another way to stay regular. This is so TMI!
  10. This will sound silly but we are all healthcare providers (or students) so here it goes. I am a PA student who eats a very healthy, high fiber diet. As such, I always have frequent and very unpleasant smelling flatulence. I am worried about starting clinicals and being trapped in a primary care office with one other person (aka my patient) and, well, you know. I really don't want to change my diet. Does Beano help? Or any other kind of alleviating factor? I know I can't be the only one with this problem! Help!
