  1. It’s open now! Good luck with the application. If you have any insights please feel free to share.
  2. Just declined my interview spot for the 10th. I was accepted to USC a while back so hopefully this will give someone else the opportunity to interview. Good luck to everyone!
  3. Hey everyone, I'm in the process of starting my essays for this year's NHSC scholarship and was wondering if anyone had advice on how they approached the essays. My specific questions are highlighted below. 1) How specific were you in outlining your future career plans for the essay on the NHSC mission? Did you list HPSA sites and/or non-profit organizations you were interested in affiliating with? 2) How did you approach the essay regarding your commitment to working in primary care? Did you take a narrative approach regarding life events or circumstances that led you to pursue a career in primary care, a philosophical approach rationalizing the importance of primary care, a combination of the two, or something altogether different? Thanks in advance for any help!
  4. Thanks! Towards the middle. I'm not sure SMU's program was the right fit for me, and apparently that came across in the interview! Hahaha! Good luck with everything!
  5. Just received an email informing me that I'm on the waitlist, so be on the lookout. Luckily, I already received acceptance at my top choice (USC) about three weeks ago, so I gave up my spot. It was great to meet everyone at the interview and I look forward to working with you in the future. Congrats to all those who were accepted, and good luck to everyone in the coming years!
  6. No call... but I just got an acceptance letter in my email! Hahaha! I can't believe it! This is seriously my dream school! Can't wait to meet everyone!
  7. 10-11 more days and we'll find out! Fingers crossed!
  8. That's strange. Mine says fall of 2018. Probably just a typo, but worth checking on. Was it the email or the interview offer letter attached to it?
  9. So, right now it's just me and one other candidate meeting up early Friday evening to grab some food. If anyone else is interested, please feel free to message me anytime between now and Friday night. Hope to see you all on Saturday!
  10. Anyone interviewing this Saturday interested in grabbing a bite to eat the night before? We all have to eat anyways, right? Might as well do it together and get a jump start on introductions!
  11. Supplemental submitted Dec. 7 and app sent to committee for review Dec. 11. No word back yet. Last year they interviewed through March, so hopefully we'll hear something back soon.
  12. Here are my stats: GPA: 3.98 sGPA: 4.0 M.A. Cultural Anthropology B.A. Anthropology, summa cum laude, graduated with distinction GRE: Verbal Reasoning 164, Quant 151, Analytical Writing 4.5. Patient care hours: 2300+ as an EMT Volunteer hours 600+ both in the US and abroad.
  13. For those of us still anxiously awaiting interview invites, the forums from last year indicate that January invites were sent out on December 30. Also, they held interviews in February and March so there's still time even if we don't hear back about January interviews. Stay positive and enjoy the holidays everyone!
  14. I'm right there with you. Literally holding my breath every time I check my email... Hahaha! Hopefully we'll hear something about an interview soon.
