  1. Hey pre-PA peeps, Although it is still early in the application cycle, interview invites have started to go out and the interview anxiety has already commenced. Several PA students and certified PAs have blogs filled with information specifically for pre-PAs, so I thought I would share some interview-related blog posts with you all. Trust Me, I'm a PA https://doseofpa.blogspot.com/2014/03/physician-assistant-school-interview.html https://doseofpa.blogspot.com/2015/11/the-pa-school-interview-guide.html Alexis Leigh, PA https://alexisleighpa.com/prepa/2018/6/18/interview-prep https://alexisleighpa.com/prepa/2018/6/18/interview-outfit https://alexisleighpa.com/prepa/2018/6/22/my-interview-experiences https://alexisleighpa.com/prepa/2018/6/23/planning-an-interview-trip The PA Platform http://www.thepaplatform.com/blog-2/e8sp5ckjsa33t6bskldbj3f343m6d7 http://www.thepaplatform.com/blog-2/7hfm3sh35pksg9tzn978xdexrxtysc http://www.thepaplatform.com/blog-2/w42x7745lztc3jllejy3aegchl8hgt http://www.thepaplatform.com/blog-2/ytgljehjjlkdjym2m7nkytsf5agmbf AP the PA http://apthepa.blogspot.com/2016/02/pa-school-interviews-things-to-keep-in.html http://apthepa.blogspot.com/2016/02/interview-questions_20.html http://apthepa.blogspot.com/2016/07/interview-packing-list.html PA Journey http://pajourney.com/2015/01/29/interview-questions-to-practice/ Hopefully you guys find this information helpful! I know when I applied a year ago, I spent most of my free time reading advice from PA blogs and I found it super useful. I was not aware of the huge PA community on Instagram though, so I definitely suggest checking that out as well! Also, as of today (6/29), I am giving away 2 of Savanna Perry's Interview Guides to 2 lucky pre-PAs for free through my Instagram account (@alexisleigh.pa_s). The giveaway will end on July 2, so go enter!
  2. Today we got a link to a website they created for our class, finally!
  3. So glad someone else is as anxious as I am! Not hearing anything since Oct is slowly killing me lol
  4. So I interviewed in October, which now seems super long ago lol. Off the top of my head, you start the day with a ppt presentation on the program, then you either do the MMI interview session (filled with ethical questions, problem solving questions, 1 regular interview, and a couple of scenarios) or campus tour. Honestly, they do a fantastic job of making you feel welcome and comfortable, so try to be as relaxed as possible and enjoy yourself! Good luck, I hope you join our class! I am stoked to start the PA program here, but I am super anxious to start receiving information about the program.. I want to find roommates and get an apartment already
  5. Hey pre-PA peeps, My name is Alexis and I was accepted into a few PA schools this application cycle- I will be starting in August :) I remember when I was applying I had tons of questions about how to write my personal statement and what to write my personal statement on. So I thought I would share with you guys some really helpful blog posts about personal statements, a link to 31 personal statement examples, and a personal statement editing service. Personal Statement Blog Posts: AP the PA (3 posts): http://apthepa.blogspot.com/2016/05/personal-statement-what-to-include.html#more http://apthepa.blogspot.com/2016/05/personal-statement-what-to-include-part.html#more http://apthepa.blogspot.com/2016/05/personal-statement-mistakes-to-avoid.html#more Trust Me, I'm a PA https://doseofpa.blogspot.com/2014/02/caspa-personal-narrative-tips.html Alexis Leigh, PA https://alexisleighpa.com/prepa/2018/3/9/personal-statement PA Journey http://pajourney.com/2015/03/13/writing-the-personal-statement/ With Ashley Kay https://www.withashleykay.com/blog/2018/2/15/personal-statement-tips Meghan in Medicine https://meghaninmedicine.com/2016/12/22/personal-statements-101/ 31 Personal Statement Examples from The PA Life https://www.thepalife.com/31-physician-assistant-personal-statement-examples/ PA Personal Statement Revision Service from The PA Life https://www.thepalife.com/the-free-physician-assistant-essay-and-personal-statement-collaborative/ I promise this is not an ad, I used this service when applying to PA school and found it extremely useful. If you are curious about this service, I discuss it in my personal statement blog post (alexisleighpa.com). If you have any more questions about the service you can feel free to message me through here or IG. Good luck writing your personal statements and with your PA applications! The application process is definitely stressful and time-consuming, but remember your goals and power through. The reward of finally getting accepted into a PA program is more than worth all the obstacles along the way!
  6. Definitely suggest How to Ace the PA School interview from Andrew Rodican. I felt super prepared at all my interviews and got accepted to every program I interviewed with, so it's worth the money! You did a great job with that book, Andrew!
  7. I'm so glad to hear! I know when I was in your shoes a year ago I found this stuff super helpful, so I thought I would share. Also since you found these helpful, these are not technically blogs or IGs, but websites dedicated to pre-PA info that you also might find helpful: www.thepalife.com and doseofpa.blogspot.com

  9. Super excited for you guys being offered interviews, I really enjoyed my interview and I am stoked to attend this program. Slightly sad they are having an interview this late though because now the accepted class won't hear anything until April and I really was planning to hear something this month... I guess the wait continues ☹
  10. For people who have been accepted, has anyone gotten or heard anything since the official acceptance letter?
  11. There are only 28 accepted students on the Facebook page and JCHS accepts 42 students, so I am assuming that there is still some interviews ahead to help fill the class. Good luck!
  12. Finally received my official acceptance packet today, so I accepted and put down my deposit! Super excited to meet our class! ?
  13. The extension will have to formally be requested if you haven't received the letter by the due date. I really want to read the contingencies first, so I will request an extension if I don't get the letter in time. I don't think Sharon knows that several others also haven't received the official letter though.
  14. Since I still haven't received my official acceptance letter, I was becoming concerned about the seat deposit due date. So I emailed Sharon and she said that the due date for the Oct 6 interview group is November 1. Just FYI. Also she stated that if you still haven't gotten the official acceptance letter by the due date an extension can be made.
  15. I'm Alexis (the only other girl in our group). Super glad you got accepted as well!
