  1. I am currently a 2nd year student getting ready to enter clinical rotations and finish in a little over a year. I have a strong interest in pursuing a position as a faculty member in the future. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to actively work towards this goal? I was told to go ahead and get a doctorate as it would likely be necessary by the time I am ready to apply for a position. I am prepared to do this but want to find a doctorate that doesn't cost an arm and leg, as I have undergrad and grad loans.
  2. Turned down my seat for an interview. Hopefully this helps someone who needs a seat out! Good luck guys!
  3. For those accepted to the Morehead campus and considering moving to Morehead. I know several incoming students either moving or considering moving to Morehead for the program. I thought about starting a private group where we could all talk about it and possibly find roommates amongst each other and have a game plan going in. I know the program will have a group for us to join soon, but I thought it would be a good idea to get to know each other and get an idea about living situations. Please message me if interested and I would be more than happy to set up a group or some form of communicatio
  4. Got the decision email a little earlier for Morehead campus!!! Make sure to check your inbox!!!
  5. Has anyone received the survey post-interview that Julia mentioned?
  6. Nothing yet. Although I frequently receive letters from the financial aid office about my FAFSA. Hoping to hear back about everything soon. Any ideas on when we could hear something based on last years cycle?
  7. I called today and realized that they require hard copies of your transcripts as well and that's why I haven't heard anything. I highly recommend giving them a call because they are very helpful in letting you know what you need!
  8. I received an email back from her shortly after. I would email again in a few days if you haven't heard anything, just to verify.
  9. You're fine thank you for mentioning it, otherwise it would have been very confusing!
  10. Thank you so much! Always nice to be reminded not to stress. As students you remember how this part of the process was! Is it around the first of September when we start to hear if we were accepted, waitlisted, or what?
  11. That's awesome I bet it was a difficult decision. In the end though you have to go with whatever feels like home and where you will be the happiest, both are UK, and both are excellent. I have the same goal as well. Hopefully we will see each other at the start in January. Thank you so much I wish you the best as well!
  12. The pipeline program is a new program they have started for Morehead campus applicants only. If you know much about Morehead and the surrounding areas it is a region that is medically undeserved with a lot of sick people. The idea of the program is to find applicants from the area who desire to become primary care PA's and provide service to the region. It's a program designed for students in the surrounding service regions and medically undeserved areas of KY. To qualify for this program there was a list of requirements to show rigor of academics, dedication to the undeserved, and leadership.
  13. I'm not entirely sure. I think where we are pipeline applicants, there will be a fewer number of us on the interview date.
  14. Haven't heard anything yet either. Let's keep our fingers crossed though!
  15. Is it for sure October? I've heard August and October, but not sure which ones are true. Waiting is the worst part!
  16. Would like to thank all the faculty and students for all the hard work they put in to into the interview session (July 24th-25th attendee). It was a much greater experience than any of us could have ever expected. Thank you again.
  17. I interview at the same time on the same day! Will be nice to meet another pipeline applicant! Best of luck to you that day and looking forward to meeting you!
  18. The earlier deadlines are great because you get to hear back quicker! The waiting part of the process is the worst. UK itself is awesome though. Julia and all the faculty are great and very friendly.
  19. Waiting is the worst part. Hoping we all hear soon!
  20. Congratulations to you all such a wonderful accomplishment for both students and faculty. Hoping I get a chance to interview and be a part of class with the same pass rate!
  21. Thank you so much. Hoping they start sending out invitations and stuff soon so we can all find out!
  22. Yea I filled out right after I submitted to CASPA. You can email Nick and he will let you know if they received all your materials. He is great!
  23. Hey Chiakipoo, I didn't see any exact numbers on the website as it will vary from class to class and depending on the types of applicants. According to what I have heard about them they look at applications as a whole and not exclusively test scores and GPA, although it is an important part. They consider activities such as shadowing, community service, and healthcare experience. If you have a low GRE a higher GPA or extracurricular hours are to your benefit or vice versa,
  24. It sounds like an excellent program. I met a former student at my job, she is a PA in the Emergency Department at KDMC. She loved LMU and said she wouldn't have went anywhere else. Thank you for the advice! Waiting is the worst part about applying.
