    2018-2019 Application Cycle

I was verified and got my confirmation email from rush May 17 stating they'll be in touch in 3 weeks, I reached out to them July 26 to see if there was any update on my app. I have still not heard anything from them other than the original May email. Anyone still in this same boat?

    Application verified, now what??

Study the profession, prepare for interviews, and research the schools you applied to to find what you love about them say you were to get an interview. There are books you can get to prepare for interviews. Look up current events in the PA world and know about changes and common issues. Continue getting Pt care hours and volunteering so you have experiences to talk about in interviews

    Caspa verification

Other than the initial email from CASPA saying my app was sent and then the email stating my coursework was verified I never got anything else from them. It was the emails from the individual schools that will tell you they’ve received your CASPA app and that is school dependent on when they email those out. On CASPA in the check status part, it should say received next to each app too if you want to check there for the status.

    Interview Attire (women)

Ahh perfect, thanks so much. My thinking with the blazer too is I can always take it off or keep it on depending on what I see everyone else’s ideas of business casual are. thanks!

    Interview Attire (women)

Question, for one of my interviews it’s a 2 day thing, the first day is more of a meet and greet and they said “business casual is recommended” the second day is the actual interview where “interview attire is expected”. Obviously I’m going to wear a full black suit I got from Ann Taylor on the second day, but for the first day I wanted some advice on what is considered “business casual” I have This lighter jacket and was going to pair it with black dress pants, and possibly a colored shirt underneath. Is this too casual, I don’t want to be the only one to show up not in a suit on the first day, and also vice versa. Any opinions are valued!!!
  12. as a pre PA applicant, I have a lot of hope for the profession! More and more patients in my scope of practice as a medical assistant are realizing what PAs are capable of and allow the PAs in my office to see them, when they were expecting a visit with the doctor. The acceptance of the profession in itself by patients is a huge feat. There are many eager peers of mine that are excited about this profession, and seeing the perseverance of those applying to schools even shows the attitude that PAs possess. I see many posts in this forum about it being the 3rd or 4th time applying to school, doing whatever it may be to increase their chances to get in school. I do appreciate seeing these viewpoints though, but I don't think the profession is going downhill from here, and certainly don't hope so!
