I just found out that I was selected for HSCP. I hope those that did not get it reapply or if you are an alternate get that opportunity. Maybe I will cross paths with you all in the future. I wish you all luck and much success!

*insert cricket noises* Has anyone heard anything from anyone? I contacted my recruiter and he has not responded. I’m not sure if anyone else has gotten feedback of any kind. I hope everyone had a great holiday!!

@catsandscrubs gotcha! Just try to be as patient as possible a lot of us are just playing the waiting game. It is tough because we are hearing different things too so it's hard to keep up! I am hoping it will be within the next couple of weeks but at least we can post on here and keep each other in the loop.

Hello @catsandscrubs when exactly in October was your packet submitted? I am in the same boat anxiously awaiting results too.

@msnow I spoke with my recruiter he said that the board did meet in November. He mentioned that the results from the November board came out last week and that they are meeting now reviewing more packets. He said he is hoping for results the week of New Year's.

@msnow I have not been made aware of this but thanks for giving me a heads up. My recruiter hasn't really given me any information of any kind. I will contact him to see if he knows anything. I appreciate the info and hopefully it is sooner rather than later!

@miaswift My packet was submitted in late October to be reviewed in November. My recruiter told me that I should hear back this month but I have not heard anything else as far as spots being filled, etc.

Hi @PA156, you can post on the FB page and see if there is a medical recruiter that could help you or someone that could point you in the right direction. I had issues initially as well but if it's what you really want just be persistent. I hope you can find a recruiter to help you!

I am not sure where the recruiter got that information, last I saw and heard from another medical recruiter was that there were 20 quotas for PA. I recently just submitted my whole packet to be reviewed by the board and the new fiscal year started October 1st. There is also a FB group Navy HSCP if you have any questions or need assistance ask the group.
  13. I am not saying that they are only Navy I just looked more into the programs that the Navy offers: Navy Health Services Collegiate Program (HSCP), Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP), and Navy Health Professions Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP). The loan repayment option would be the HPLRP. I don't have any undergraduate student loans I only have my current graduate loans. This is why I wanted to do more research with all of the options but from what I read those that have been through it have been deployed and go straight to primary care. I would wait to get acceptance letters first, then I would apply for the programs that is usually how it works. I am not ready to just commit to active duty and deployments if I am not able to work in the specialty area that I am most interested in.
  14. Just because of the programs the Navy have as far as scholarships and assistance with school. I already have student loans I don't want to be burdened through 100k more of loans so I am trying to be smart about which is the best route to go.
  15. I am interested in going to PA school and have done a little research on the Navy's program for those wanting to go to school as PA. I have read that those that have gone in end up getting deployed and mostly do primary care. I have been on the flip side of the military life with my Dad being in for 20+ years so I have moved quite a bit and also lived overseas. I have a BS in Kinesiology and a MS in Exercise Science and Wellness. I have spent a year working in PT clinics and also have worked with clinical populations mainly pulmonary and cardiac rehab settings. I am interested in specializing more so in cardiology, I just wanted to know if I should even bother looking into joining the Navy if I cannot specialize.
