  2. Hi Everyone, Im looking for advice on attending either a MPH along with retaking prereqs or Case Western Medical Physiology program. The biggest issue I have with case is spending 66K for a masters , not sure if they offer scholarships. If completing the MPH those courses will still help my science gpa, and right now I have a 3.07 ugpa 3.1 science gpa. I have extensive amount of health care experience & im a minority. Can someone give advice on this process?! Thank you

  6. Hi Ive been researching what test is best out there so far I have used magoosh which hasn't really helped me much I keep scoring below the 300 margin and keep getting at 144 on the Quant section 145 on Verbal section. Ive tried prepping with magoosh only which hasn't helped much due to them ranking my quant score in the 153 on the practice test, can anyone recommend anything else I need to try. So close to just giving up overall the GRE is a ridiculous test that isn't testing over the many science courses that we need for PA school!
  7. Hi doane university offer late start classes in march. So far this is my first week in organic chemistry one and it has been great so far! I didn't have to send no paperwork also they assume that the student knows which course to sign up for and that they have the prereqs. to do well in the class.
  8. How are the test? Is it proctored ? Thanks
  9. Thanks. I will be enrolling in their courses this fall.
  10. Hi HOw was is the grading for the course? I saw some online programs give completion instead of a letter grade? Thanks
  11. does an online bachelors degree is looked down upon? thinking about doing nova online program in public health instead of doing a BSN just realized the nursing model is not for me at al! so would doing this degree and taking upper level biology course at the university is this a good idea? gpa is currently low and trying to figure out a plan now on what to do and which major to choose currently thinking about public health or even nutrition due to that major having some sciences course I need but its not online. thank you!
  12. Hi! Im thinking about applying to DYC PA program as a transfer student! I wanted to know would it be worth a try at applying to the program I also plan on taking upper level science course in June! Stats I would have 3.0 cGPA sGPA : 3.2 Over 5000 hours Patient care experience assisting in OR. 300 medical assistant hours in cardiologist office 600 hours volunteer at my local church 250 hours volunteering at hospital 100 Hours shadowing PA over 100 shadow hours MD. 1 recommendation letter from a PA 2 recommendation letter from Doctors I worked with over two years Do you think since i have low gpa I could possibly get in with my other stats such as PCE & volunteer hours& shadowing ???

  14. Thanks everyone for your advice!!! ^^^ I really don't plan to use the BSN if I could get into PA school right away but for some reason I don't get in I will be able to have a good job making okay money for that time while waiting to get accepted.
  15. by the way i have over 3,000 hours HCE as patient care tech working in the OR & EKG tech at cardiologist clinic! i have no certifications currently ! 200 hours volunteer experience which I'm still currently volunteering I need to know how I could I increase my chances by getting accepted soon instead of pushing back my dream!
  16. Hi! So I'm stuck in a little pickle! Im stuck between doing a nursing degree which will take me three years longer or either getting a degree in Health & Behavioral Sciences which will take me only a year in a half. By doing either degree the highest my GPA can get up to is a 3.3 by the time I graduate, should i just focus on graduating with the health and behavioral science degree and take upper level sciences to improve my degree before i graduate. Another option will be to get my BSN take upper level biology courses once I graduate to improve my GPA which could take almost another year before I could start applying to PA schools. My main goal is to be a PA but i was using the BSN as a backup plan if I don't get in the first time I apply.. What should I do????!
  17. Thats what I was thinking also every position for PH seems like they want more than just a bachelors, and I just need something for a backup plan if I don't get in the first time for PA school
  18. Hi, Im currently enrolling in BSN degree for next semester. I really want to be a PA, but the highest I can get my gpa now is to a 3.2(I didn't do to well my two years in undergrad.) ! Im trying to figure out how do some people over come this obstacle while trying to gain admissions to a PA school. & is a post bacc. program my only option to get a higher gpa (i thought this was only for students trying to pursue medical school ) Im thinking I'm going to either applying to PA or DO school due to me doing retakes to raise my GPA. I'm really just ready to be done with my undergrad ! & My current stats is GPA: 2.9, learning medical spanish, have over 800 hours HCE where I'm in the operating room assisting the doctor and anesthesia, volunteering at the local hospital and doing an internship in the summer 2017.
  19. thanks for the response! I will do the BSN/ minor in Spanish then PA school!
  20. I was also thinking about with my major public health or bsn minor in Spanish that way i can stand out more when applying to schools.
  21. Hello need advice currently a junior in college recently transferred to a different school and changing majors. My main focus is my GPA in order to get into PA school my first try. My GPA isn't too great right now thats the reason why I'm mainly focused not that. Currently my GPA is a 3.0. My major was biology and i stuck in between changing my major to B.S in public health or either BSN. Currently I would have to wait to get accepted into the entry level BSN program at UTA which is only 15 months online which is why I'm considering this option and that I can have a job once i graduate if i don't get accepted my try for PA school. Another reason I pick B.S in public health is because I can easily get a higher GPA with that degree. Just need advice on which route I should take...??? And I currently have 500 HCE doing Patient Care Tech/ Medical Assistant work & 20 hours shadowing a PA.
