  5. Hello ! I had a question concerning the degree verification on the CASPA application. I am graduating with my bachelors next week and will be walking in the ceremony. The semester has ended and I am for sure getting my degree. However, my university states that it can take up to 4-6 weeks in order for the degree to be awarded on official transcripts. I have talked to CASPA and they said that they cannot verify that the degree has been awarded if it isn't on the transcript. Should I submit my application fairly early and have my degree still be in progress on my application? Or do I wait until Late June/Early July, just for my degree be awarded on my application? Most of the programs I am applying to just state that they want you to have a bachelors degree prior to matriculation but I know it looks better to have it awarded already when applying. What do you all think? What would be the best route to go? Thank you in advance !!
  6. Hello ! I will be applying this upcoming cycle (2017-2018) and I have a couple questions about sending my transcripts to CASPA. I am currently taking a couple of prerequisites along with my regular coursework and will be graduating in late May. I am going to wait until spring grades are posted before I send my transcripts to CASPA seeing as that I am currently taking prerequisites. My question is, should I wait just the estimated 2 weeks for my university to post grades and send my transcripts to CASPA or should i wait an estimated 6-8 weeks in order for my "degree to be posted" on the transcript to show CASPA and the programs that I am applying to that I graduated with my Bachelors? I know that a Bachelors degree is a requirement for every school that I am applying to but do they need to see this in my CASPA application? If not there, then when/where would they see that I have a degree? As I understand it, you can only send one batch of transcripts to CASPA, correct? Maybe some of you that have applied before can shed some light on what you did. Thank you in advance.

  8. Hello ! Maybe those of you that have applied through CASPA or have knowledge about this specific requirement can shed some light onto my question. Many of the programs I am applying (especially NOVA) only require 2 letters of recommendation, one from a PA and the other from another healthcare professional (MD, DO, NP, etc). CASPA requires three LOR to be submitted with the CASPA application. In addition, each LOR is sent to all programs I will apply to. My question is, is the 2 LOR requirement a minimum requirement? If they receive three LOR, do they just sift out the ones that they require?
  9. Thank you for everyones help, I appreciate it.
  10. Hello ! I am interested in applying to several PA schools next cycle. NOVA PA Program(s) in Florida and many PA schools in surrounding states require a General Biology (or Zoology) including lab - 4 semester hours. My current college does not offer a course that is labeled "General Biology". I am assuming they want the first of the sequence of General Biology for science majors? Several of the PA schools in Florida and surrounding states have the same prerequisite and I want to make sure that I have the correct course planned. The following biology courses are offered at my college. - Biology 180 (Cell and Molecular Biology): Course Description: Designed for the major in the biological sciences and pre-health profession majors. Emphasizing central concepts of biology, including biochemistry, cell biology, membrane dynamics, molecular genetics, classical genetics, and biotechnology. - Biology 185 (Diversity of Organisms):Course Description: An introduction to the evolution, ecology, physiology, anatomy, and life history of all major groups of organisms, including bacteria, archaea, fungi, plants, animals, other eukaryotes, and viruses. Students also develop their scientific experimentation skills, including statistical data analysis and writing. Can everyone shed some light on what general biology course they had on their transcript that correlates with this prerequisite when applying to campuses that required General Biology (4 semester hours)? Thank you in advanced !
