  1. I use MacBook Pro... IT dept says it doesn't matter but the exam program we use prefers Windows over Apple... honestly it depends on your usage style and what OS you're comfortable with, but it does not matter I know people have had issues with the exam taking program earlier in the year, but after there were updates, everyone was settled in. My advice (if you don't have a good computer already): Buy a new computer with a fast processor so you don't have issues on your end - hard drive doesn't matter cause you'll never use all of it up with the school stuff... The new MacBooks have amazing processors, but you will have to buy an adapter for the Ethernet cord Anyways, I hope this helps! Congrats to all that were accepted and good luck to those waiting on the wait list! For those who weren't accepted, be patient and trust the process as well as yourself - there is a program out there for everyone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I really wish I had a secret... I can honestly tell you that my class has a wide variety of experience in school and out of school so there isn't any one thing they look for on paper... We have people in our class like me with very little to no experience and then folks who have been EMTs for 10+ years... Our class is pretty down to earth, and my guess is that the interview process has a lot to do with that. I may have not be a great choice on paper, but I believe my confidence and temperament were the intangibles that I showed in the interviews. Every school is different, but I know TTU is one that does not discriminate when it comes to GPA, GRE, volunteer experience, work experience, or any single stat. They look at the applicant with a holistic scope. Hope that helps!
  3. I'm a current student - had a 3.17 GPA, 50 volunteer hours, about 150 PCE hours, 150 hours of shadowing... trust me it's possible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hello Everyone!!! I am currently a first year student at the TTU PA program!! If anyone is wanting to get some insight about the program, Midland, or just how life is as a student - please don't hesitate to text me (text me your name that you are prospective student that way I don't block your number - 3256656996) I'm down to hangout tomorrow evening for those coming into town for their interviews on Thursday - I'm down to grab coffee or dinner, I'm down for that! I wish you all the best of luck on all the interviews you get! Hang in there cause the waiting game is the worst portion of all! I'm open to everyone, not just for Thursday's group of interviewees! Again, don't hesitate, but please be patient on a response if you text, I may be studying or in class lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I did work at BSA Hospital as a Patient Care Technician (Unlicenced CNA with no prior training) - very easy job - you work side by side with a nurse... I did that for 4 months (probably 200 hours of work) - I would have kept working but once I was accepted into PA school I figured there was no other reason I was working Start on your hours ASAP - don't wait around like me - Try to hit a solid number like 500-1000 hours Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. That's about when I got mine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well, I declined my interview so maybe they'll give someone an opportunity in my place! Good luck to you all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. So I wanted to let everyone know that I was accepted at the Texas Tech PA program! Thank you all for your responses of encouragement and opposition Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hey everyone! I was accepted on 9/9 and since then I've had a few more interview offers, but I'm set on Tech! Ive started gathering my paperwork, immunization record, etc. and I'll most likely wait for everything else once I'm done traveling. I've been looking for apartments right now too. I'm not sure if I should lock in a lease asap or wait it out until February (oil price flux is causing a problem)... I know a few of the PA students from this current year are staying at the Sundance but that place is way overpriced (or I may just be too cheap haha) Anyways, for everyone that has committed to Tech and wants to talk PA school (or anything at all), send a PM and we can talk more! 10. I wouldn't believe all that either... That means they have to be doing a lot interviews with as many applicants as they get Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Same, but I plan on declining the interview Hopefully it opens up a spot for someone! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
