  1. Yes, that's correct. I would say both programs offer a candidate quality education and resources for the future. You just have to determine what are the most important things to you in a PA school. Aside from the obvious high PANCE pass rates and good attrition, I was very adamant about selecting a program that was family oriented. I am married with two kids so I HAD to focus on qualities that would make the next two years a positive experience for my family. The interview was an opportunity to dig deeper and ensure the best match for me. Also, South has an earlier start date when compared to PCOM. Again, that could be a pro or a con depending on whom you are speaking with but it was a plus for me. Hope this helps! Good luck to you.
  2. I have received some communication from admissions but nothing regarding an interview. In the information session, the staff stated notifications would start going out in September. I've already put down a seating deposit elsewhere but I would likely still attend an interview if offered. I love so many aspects about this program!
  3. Declining my interview. I'll be starting in January with a better matched program for me. I hope this helps some one out. Good luck to those accepted & those waiting! Each and every applicant is fantastic;)
  4. Declining my interview. I'll be starting in January with a better matched program for me. No, I have not notified Mrs. Bonnie but I will on Monday. I hope this helps some one out. Good luck to those accepted & those waiting! Each and every applicant is fantastic;)
  5. Accepted :) Congratulations to those that receive phone calls & Good luck to those still waiting. I was wait listed during the 2012-2013 cycle and used all of the 'no's as fuel to get in the health care industry and prepare myself as much as I could for my future profession as a PA. 4 years later, I humbly receive my acceptance much more knowledgeable and prepared than I was in 2012. Keep hope alive to anyone who doesn't receive a favorable outcome this go around!
  6. By far, the best interview experience to date! I loved the interview format. It was a pleasure meeting everyone! Let's keep each other posted :)
  7. I have not heard anything. I called last week and Mrs. Dickman was on vacation.
  8. I received the supp. app. last night. It's payment submission and verification of required LOR.
  9. Congrats on your interview & Good luck to you!
  10. Yes, I received the same message and I was hoping it did not effect my slot in rolling admissions. So great to know I was not the only one!
  11. I have not received anything from UTSW yet. I assumed that the school did not start contacting candidates until the end of the year since there is not rolling admissions.
  12. Same here. I applied in June a few years ago and my interview in December was for an alternate seat.
  13. I doubt that the admission committee member will sit with your personal statement, the many ways that CASPA breaks down your GPA, compare the two, and make a sole decision based on a tenth/hundredth of a point. However, there's always an option to contact each school that you submitted an application and request to send/email on updated personal statement with the revision. I think recognizing the error and making an attempt to correct it shows some great qualities that would benefit you as a future PA. Good luck to you!
