  1. Okay guys - I swear this is the final time I bother everyone but I changed my PS quite a bit with the help of everyone's advice and some from people I know in person. Let me know what you think this time :)) Personal Statement ROUND 3
  2. I've heard this from a couple different people as well so I will go ahead and do that. Definitely gives me space for more characters. Thanks!
  3. I agree with your points and will revise. I read the history of the PA profession wrong haha I gotta change that.
  4. Rats, sorry! I made it public now - Personal Statement REVISED I agree with what you're saying and to be honest those were the parts that I felt super iffy about anyway :) I changed it quite a bit and think it's a bit more fleshed out now.
  5. Since posting this question I've updated my Personal Statement so if anyone can do a quick skim through and let me know what you think I would greatly appreciate it! <3 Personal Statement REVISED
  6. Wow. Thank you so much for your response you're awesome :) I do agree I need to add more about my PCE but I just don't know how without going over 2 pages! It's really hard. I'm going back and trying my best to make my sentence shorter.
  7. A year ago I posted my personal statement on here and I got tough love for it - which I super appreciated! I never did apply last year's cycle because life got in the way but I'm feeling like 2018 is my year and I'm tired of sitting here and not at least giving it a chance and applying. Anyway, please let me know what you think! I really need the help and any and all comments on it will make me over the moon :) Thank you so much for taking the time to read it. The question on CASPA is - Please explain why you are interested in being a Physician Assistant. Personal Statement 2.docx
  8. Thank you so much for your response. Since posting my personal statement, I have made a couple grammatical changes but I will look into your suggestions as well. That is not the real patient's name, that is a made-up name. Should I write a sentence stating such that way they know? Thanks!
  9. Hello everybody! I finished my PS just now and I wanted some feedback. This is my first attempt at writing one and I am sending this over to some people so it would help them write out LOR's for me (they already agreed on doing this and requested a PS). Thanks! Personal Statement.docx
  10. That's interesting...weird. I mean their communication isn't the best. I've tried calling their PA program for some clarifications on some things for 3 days now (all different times) and no one picks up - it just sends me straight to voicemail :/ Not a great way to start lol. Thank you for the name and congrats to you! Good luck on those interviews JD! :D
  11. ....Hmm. Like they won't let you take it...? That's REALLY weird...Are they bad with their communication? That's something I'd like to note. However, from what you've said so far you sound like you have enough experience to be applying to even bigger schools than this one soo...I wouldn't sweat it alll that much but I get how annoying that has to be :/
  12. I see, that's crazy to even think. I won't get my hopes that high up but I'll definitely stop beating around the bush and at least try. What's the worst that can happen right? That's odd that they are doing that to you...Is it one of their prereqs?
  13. Just hearing that my qualifications might pass me to the 2nd stage gives me all the hope in the world, thank you :) I reviewed the entrance exam questions that might come up on the MDC website and it isn't something I haven't done before so I'm confident that I could do well there. The interview will be the harder part. I really appreciate your candid response!
  14. Hey everybody! I am interested in applying to this program but I'm trying to figure out if I even have a chance in getting in. I can't find anywhere what is the average GPA and HCE/PCE hrs of students who got accepted into this program. Does anyone have this information? Here are my stats: GPA: 3.4 Already have my AA and near completion of my BA in Biology ~1,000 hours (ongoing); 300 hrs shadowing a PA in Pediatrics over a summer, 50 hrs shadowing a PT, 620 hrs as a medical scribe in a Urology Oncology clinic, 15 hrs in Florida Hospital's NICU, 10 hrs in a Domestic Violence clinic, among others I haven't documented yet. I am still scribing, I just started shadowing a Psychiatrist at a local clinic, and I am training to become a Crisis Text Line volunteer currently so my hours are increasing. What do you think? Do I have a chance? And does anyone have any information of the average stats for this school? THANKS
