  1. Hello, Does anyone know if there are scholarships/grants out there for working PA's in subspecialties (non-Primary Care) in underserved regions? Thank you for your help!
  2. @greenmoodI agree. For that reason, I started expanding my search to other specialties, but I was fortunate to finally receive a job offer in my desired subspecialty just one day ago. Thanks for responding.
  3. I am still looking for my first job as a certified Physician Assistant, but since I do not want to lose medical knowledge while I am applying, is it ok if I shadow? I don't have liability insurance nor do I plan on submitting a form to the state board listing a supervising physician since it is not employment and is only shadowing. Is this fine? What would the scope of the shadowing experience look like? May I take a history from patients and discuss the assessment and plan with the doctor without examining patients? How would I list this shadowing experience on my resume? Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply.
  4. Hi, I recently graduated from PA school and am currently applying for a job in Houston, TX in gyn oncology. I tried looking at the AAPA salary report, but it does not specifically mention this subspecialty. What is a reasonable salary request for a new grad who does not have prior work experience in this specialty, given the standard of living in Houston? Thank you for any help you can lend!
  5. Does anyone know the exact key word search/title to find the class of 2018 Facebook page?
  6. For those who have heard a decision, is it normal to have an interview on 12/12/15 and not hear anything yet? They said we would hear within 1 month, and it is now 42 days. I would think that by now we would hear whether we get accepted, waitlisted, or rejected. Is it possible that they forgot about us because we are rejected anyways and that we need to reach out to them to remind them, at which point they would send out an email or letter saying, "oh yeah, you were rejected, but best of luck with your future endeavors?"

  8. I have an interview with Emory in T-26 days, and I am very nervous! I haven't been doing too hot on my interviews so far and have been feeling discouraged lately. Without going into detail on what questions are asked, can anyone shed light on what type of questions they ask, i.e. more about scenarios in a clinical setting (which I can't prep for anyways), case studies/analyses (can't prep for these either), questions on character/ethics, questions on your own personal experience, etc.? If there is no way to prepare for it, then I would spend the remainder of my time researching the program more in-depth, re-acquainting myself on my resume again and relaxing. I would feel guilty just relaxing if there was something I can do to prepare. I really appreciate any input.
