  1. Hello there, Just confirming that 1/27 was the last interview. I have not received any information whatsoever. I received an email many months ago regarding the medical term course. I emailed back to inform them I had indeed taken it (a 4 quarter unit course). No response. I called the office a few weeks after, and Natalie confirmed that it was a 4 unit course and to email her. I emailed her that day with proof of my medical term course. No response. A few weeks after that, I sent a follow up email, with no response. Finally discovering on this forum that this school requires a 4 SEMESTER (NOT QUARTER) unit course. I quickly signed up for a 5 unit semester course at my cc and sent Natalie an email. She responded and confirmed it is indeed a semester, not a quarter unit. I sent my documentation and updated my CASPA to reflect this change. No email to confirm whether my application is under review. I am wondering if I should unenroll in my medical teminology course as it appears there is not really any chance for interviews...
  2. Hi guys, I submitted and verified my CASPA application in early July and I also had 3 LOR so my application was complete. During this time, I was just starting to work with a new physician. Now it is October and I have been getting to know him very well and I believe he can write an outstanding LOR for me. I do believe that it would be beneficial for me to have a LOR from him. Will it be ok to add a LOR from him after my CASPA submission? Thanks!
  3. Hey guys, I'm a newly certified nursing assistant with 2 opportunities: 1. position about 12 miles away in a rehab center (short stay and also long term care) It would take me about 25-35 min to get there in early morning due to traffic. 2. position about 27 miles away in a hospital (acute and trauma care) It would take me about 45 min to get there with transit and a bus. It is extremely difficult to get into a hospital around my area! I am not sure if it is worth it though due to the commute. Wondering if you guys would be so kind and give me your input. Thanks! Also I realized I posted in the incorrect forum (I posted underneath current PA students). Is there anyway I can delete that?
  4. Sorry guys I realized I posted in the wrong forum!! I'm going to delete this

  6. Hi all, I find it very confusing that many schools list minimum GPA requirements as low as 2.75 or 3.0 however now schools will not even consider you if you do not have at least a 3.4! Yes, I understand that it is more competitive now, however if the schools will not even look at an application that meets the requirements, they should really update their websites so that students understand what the school wants. Can you guys list the schools with these "real" GPA requirements? (e.g. I know Western now will only consider students with 3.4 or higher).
  7. Hi all, First time posting! I searched all recent forums for my questions but I didn't find any. In any case, I apologize if this has already been answered in an older thread I may have missed. I know that CASPA does not "cancel" the original course grade and instead both the original and new grades will be shown. That being said one should weigh into consideration how important retaking the course is. 1. Am I correct in thinking the core classes required (e.g. gen chem, cell bio, etc.) should be retaken if one originally received a C? How important is this (do C's really look disappointing)? 2. If I originally received a C in Gen Chem 1C (which is the 3rd course in the series) will I have to take a similar 3rd in series course? This is a little difficult because most of the community colleges around me are on a semester system, rather than a quarter system like the university that I received the C at. Would I be able to take a Gen Chem 2nd series from community college in order to show the board members that I am understanding the same material? RANDOM QUESTION 3. This is just a scenario I was wondering about: Since CASPA asks for all transcripts, will I be questioned if I got a W in a random course like "Beginning Guitar"? Say I got the W because I willingly dropped the class because I didn't have time for it. Thanks all!
