  1. Can I ask where you found an EM rotation? I'm an out of state student hoping to do electives back home in Baltimore.
  2. Welcome those of you who have been accepted, and to everyone else try to be patient. There are still several rounds of interviews and the program is taking more people than ever. There are currently 8 of us that are dual students and will be your classmates next year. Here's a Facebook group if you want to start connecting. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1759306094325332/ See you next year!
  3. I just got my confirmation email last night but still nothing in the mail
  4. Invited to interview! I do think 7:30-5 is a very long day especially because last I checked classes were on the main campus, not Arundel Mills. I wonder how UMES losing accreditation will affect them.
  5. I just got this letter: Dear Applicant, On Tuesday, October 6, 2015, based on findings from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc (ARC-PA), the University has withdrawn the UMES Physician Assistant Program from the accreditation review process. Consequently, the PA Program will lose its accreditation. At this time, the application cycle for the UMES PA Program has ceased. This means no further applications or application materials (transcripts, GRE scores, etc) are being accepted. For those who have submitted a UMES graduate school application, your UMES graduate school application fee will be refunded. Looking forward, while this action is a substantial setback for the PA Program, UMES and the University System of Maryland have committed themselves to providing the required resources and infrastructure to submit an application for reaccreditation in the future so we can improve the health of the citizens in the Delmarva region and the State of Maryland. Thank you, Sanada L. Spellman Admissions Coordinator University of Maryland Eastern Shore Physician Assistant Program It would be nice if they also refunded having my GRE scores sent, the fee for the background check, and the fee to apply to the UMES grad school. I hope they can work things out for their current students.
  6. I got the supplemental on 8/5 and then just got the save the date email 10/2. Weird....
  7. I got the same email and I've already been accepted.... I don't really care about the secondary
  8. I know it's hard to say, but don't be so nervous. This is my second time through and I've found I did my best in interviews when I was a little more spontaneous and a little less rehearsed. Campbell won't ask you anything crazy so just be sure you can give an answer to the basics. Ex. Why Campbell? Why PA? Tell me about yourself. What are your goals? Where do you see yourself practicing? Name a strength and weakness. Name something you wish you could do over/change. I found they asked questions that were specific to my resume and application. Think about taking control of the interview and using it as an opportunity to talk about only the things you want to talk about. You can highlight your standout features or explain things you're not so happy with. As far as the group interview, it's pretty laid back. You're in a group of 4 and you discuss a scenario then discuss and evaluate yourselves. It's a little weird and drawn out but just make sure you communicate well and show teamwork. Good luck! P.S. I used the "How to ace the PA school interview" book and it has way more questions than you will ever be asked in it
  9. Are you referring to the supplemental application? If so I found it to be a little odd to work with. I think it took me two times to get it right. You can always print it and fill it out by hand.
  10. I think the company automatically sends them to the school.
  11. I heard last year they interviewed until December. There are 44 spots for the next class and they are chosen on a rolling basis so it is possible for all spots to be full before December. Someone said in this case interviewees will be told that they are interviewing for a spot on the wait list.
  12. No and my email was from Jessica Thomas which might be specific to the dual program.
  13. I just got the accepted email! I got into the dual program. Good luck to everyone still waiting for hear!
  14. Last year the afternoon session began with a Q&A panel with students. There were also presentations from staff and faculty. After that the AM people left and the PM went to a 1 on 1 interview. The dual program applicants had a second interview. Then we were split into small groups for a group interview. In the gorup interview they gave us a scenario to discuss. Finally we took a tour of the building and filled out the exit survery.
