  1. NYC is a much higher cost of living area. I'm in the Baltimore area so I'm not sure they'd be willing to make that high a jump but it's worth considering. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  2. I am currently working in an orthopedic practice and coming up on 1 yr here. Trying to figure out what seems like a fair raise. Have been a PA 3 yrs - prior experience as a hospitalist and urgent care Currently I am getting $102,500 3 weeks vacation 401k - they will start matching at my 1 yr Mark 1500 cme Was going to ask for 2%-3% raise .. seems like a typical cost of living raise which would put me around 104,550 - 105,574 I had originally asked for $105,00 when I was hired so I don't think they'd be surprised by this request. I feel like I'm doing well here and everyone seems
  3. Maryland is pretty PA friendly from my perspective - Hopkins is a big exception as they have a large NP program so they tend to skew towards NPs but that doesnt mean PA's aren't used. I know several people from my class got jobs at the Bayview campus in the ED - Hopkins as a whole tends to pay lower than average though so it's prob not worth it unless you want the name on your resume. I had no problem finding a job right out of school and when I switched specialties it took no time at all to find a position. Where are your practicing now?
  4. Hi all! My husband an I are considering moving from Maryland to North Carolina in the next year or so - looking at the Raleigh area but also really love Asheville. Mainly looking due to lower cost of living and I have some family in the Raleigh area. Wondering how PA friendly the state is - I am currently working in Orthopedics and would like to stay in that specialty. I also have experience in Urgent Care so I would be open to that that as well depending on the position if I can't find an Ortho gig. I have been a PA for just shy of 3 yrs. How is the job market and does anyo

  6. Interviewed for an ortho position and got an offer. Seems like a good gig. I'm 2 yrs out with hospitalist and urgent care experience. 4 days/ week with one late day where I would be covering walk in clinic from 430 to 730 with a doc. (start time would be later that day to accommodate later hours) Salary $102,500 PTO 28 days plus 2 days cme (more approved on case by case basis depending on what the course is) 401k, profit sharing after 1 yr (4%) Medical and dental (need to see options but the base coverage would be free for me) Malpractice 1m/3m Cme 1500 (licencing included in th
  7. I am transitioning from Hospitalist medicine to Urgent care and was hoping to get suggestions for good books or pocket guides I can use to brush up on typical urgent care complaints. Thanks!
  8. Why would the month you take it matter? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  9. I'm a new grad waiting to get credentialing done before I start working as a PA - would like to use this time to start getting some CME credits. What are the best free resources for obtaining CME credit? - I'll be working as a Hospitalist PA so anything that you think would be beneficial for this field would be great too.
  10. Help4CME program with access until November 15th Kaplan Qbank with 186 days of access. Also have the Kaplan power points in a PDF file. Shoot me an offer if interested!
  11. Recent graduate - I'll try to answer your questions the best I can 1. From what we were told the probationary status was mostly due to administrative issues (i.e. record keeping) and some issues with the sequencing of classes which has been changed slightly since the probationary status was placed on us. Should have final word from the ARC-PA regarding our status in September- I'm not too worried about us losing accreditation - the administration has been working hard to remedy issues. 2. There are many different clinical sites and they all vary so its hard to give you an overall fee
  12. Will accept best offer for either or both programs! I also have the PDF file of the Kaplan ppt presentations that I can send to whoever wants the Qbank. LOVED Kaplan - the qbank was very helpful!
  13. Kaplan qbank access with 195 days left - asking $150 Help4cme program with access until November 15th - asking $200 Please direct message me if you're interested!
