  1. Last cycle, the invites were sent all the way until October. My application was received Aug 22nd and I was invited for an interview in October. So don't feel discouraged if you haven't heard back. This is a perfect time to work on your interview prep if you have some free time. Good luck.
  2. Good luck to everyone on their journey at SM. This is a great program with an amazing staff to back it up. I was fortunate enough to be accepted to a couple of programs this cycle and finally made my decision to pick one, which was a very tough one. I decided to decline my seat at SM for OHSU. I know my spot will go to one of you outstanding candidates. I am glad to have met some of you at the interview on Jan. 20th and hope we keep in touch in the future. All the best, I expect to see you all in the future with that PA-C on your white coat and be able to call you my fellow brothers and sisters in this community.

  4. I am looking into the iPad pro 10.5" and 12.9" models. For those using either model, what was the factor that helped you make your decision? Not taking into account cost.
  5. @FoodAsMedicine For your lectures that are taught by guests, how much access do you have to them if you would like to ask them questions after lecture? Like in undergrad or other PA programs have most classes taught by the faculty and students have access to the professors anytime they want. Is it just certain lectures on a topic that are taught by experts or whole class?
  6. This is a pretty helpful thread. I got into Samuel Merritt and Oregon Health & Science University. Trying to see which area would be beneficial to live after graduating. I am currently living in East Bay. Definitely the COL is extremely high and the only place I would ultimately want to live is near Walnut Creek and those that are from here know what the cost of a house there is. They are both great program IMO so it is a tough decision to make. Side note: I am using Chapter 31 Vocational Rehab program from the VA, so will graduate from the PA with zero debt. This would definitely help with starting a life afterwards.
  7. Early admission calls have started going out. Keep an eye out for a call from 510 area code.
  8. This is a question for those that were taking classes this past fall. Did you send Duke an email about your updated grades or just updated on CASPA?
  9. Yup. This is the last school I am waiting to hear back from.
  10. Here are my stats. Hope this helps those that were asking about it. Still waiting to hear back from Touro and Duke. With the current offers, I will be attending OHSU's program.

  11. Try emailing Kristina regarding receipt of application. Due to the busy application period, I wouldn't bombard them with emails though. Her email address is kbautista@samuelmerritt.edu
  12. I just got a call from SM for an interview invite on January 20th. Keep an eye out for a phone call.
  13. What expenses did the VA pay when those that were already under Chapter 31 applied for PA school? I know they will reimburse application fees. What about seat deposit and travel expenses for interviews at schools?
