  1. alssparks: I am in my second year at UTHSC and do not recall having to fill out forms for my healthcare hours. They generally just looked at what was entered into CASPA. DoNoHarm14: I don't believe they send out those letters, but am unsure. I believe they would send you a letter if you interviewed but did not get in. Aaron Harris UTHSC-PAS Class of 2015
  2. Throwaway123, I too am in a first year program. We have about a month left of the didactic year. I can definitely sympathize with you, we've had many times where it feels like you are educating yourself. We've also had some incredibly well taught sections. I think any PA, regardless of new or old, will require a lot of self-study. We've tried to establish open communication with our faculty about any questions or concerns and that has benefited us a lot. I would agree with arnosr190. Youtube, especially handwritten tutorials, are great supplements. Good luck!
  3. ryangpas, The reason people move away from cadaver labs is because of the expense, space, and resources needed to manage a cadaver lab. It's much easier to manage a software program and plastic models than human bodies. In my opinion, there is no substitution for the real thing. Just saying...

  5. LSpivey, If UTHSC is a program you're interested in I'd still apply once your GRE is completed. The application cycle is open until October, I believe. It is rolling admissions, so there are fewer spots the longer you wait.
