  1. I worked as an STNA for a year, plenty of opportunity for overtime and I also saved every penny. I applied broadly then I traveled for 2 of my interviews and the 3rd was just a few hours by car. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I was browsing the AAPA for laws and regulations in Michigan and I was just curious why the Michigan Compiled Laws refers to PAs as physician'S assistant every single time? I was under the impression this was never used to describe PAs so I was especially surprised to see it written in the laws!
  3. When hired as a CNA last summer, I was very upfront that I had plans to continue my education and start PA school around this time. Everything was going well until I got hurt at work around Thanskgiving. I sprained my shoulder and was put on a floor that doesn't require lifting residents. Workers comp dragged out my treatment until several days ago I was able to get steroid injections. However, this flared up the pain significantly. Because my boss knows I'm leaving at the end of April, my position on the light floor went to someone else and they have me scheduled to work on the heavy-lifting floor for the remainder of my time. I told them my shoulder is still causing me pain and I don't feel comfortable risking my health for one more month of employment. Long story short, nothing is going to change and I am considering quitting. However giving a 2 weeks notice seems like a long time to be lifting people everyday with a bad shoulder. I am considering quitting right now but my question is: after PA school, will future employers contact my supervisor where I acquired my HCE? I would obviously be unable to use my supervisor as a reference but after 2 years of PA school I would hope to meet many educators and preceptors. I'm just wondering how this may effect my future, any input would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have no information regarding the wait list but the accepted individuals received an e-mail recently with more information for classes starting in May. There were ~50 names give or take so I would imagine the class is likely full or close to it and getting pulled from the wait list would probably only occur if one of these individuals decide not to pursue Kettering, which still may happen considering there are several months before classes start. However, I'm sure Mary could provide more accurate information, this is just my two cents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I used ETS GRE prep book over Kaplan. Instead of studying vocab words study common ROOT WORDS. Also on their website they have a list of their very own writing prompts. Used many of those to practice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Also to help with your interview see if your university has a career services department. I visited mine countless times, always free, and felt very confident after several mock interviews tailored for PA school. Even as an alumni I am able to use these services, it'd be worth looking into. Good luck!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. How awful would it be to have a shoulder in a sling for up to 4 weeks during the didactic year? Injury was to my right shoulder and unfortunately I am right-handed... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Recieved an invitation to interview! I'll be there the first week of Feb. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Wishing you the best of luck! Maybe it's not too late for us this year. I was accepted to Kettering College but the low tuition of Tri-C was very appealing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Still haven't heard anything as well. Was this the only school you applied to? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good luck! I'm still hoping to be lucky enough to get an interview in the first place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Looks like a good sign for all of us. Good luck everyone :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
