  1. Hello all! I was hoping a few of you out there might be recent graduates (or know of someone who is) from one of the PA Critical Care residency programs. I am starting to look at the different programs that offer them, and while reading the curriculum is helpful, it does not account for first hand knowledge. I would love to discuss your experiences with your program and get your thoughts. So far, I am looking at Montefiore, Johns Hopkins, Emory, and Mayo. I will expand/narrow the list as I am able to get some more information. I hope to hear from a few of you! It would be great to have a nice CC residency thread for folks to reference, it seems most of the info available currently is for EM. Thanks everyone, hope to hear from you!
  2. I am looking for anyone that might have some connections to doing some rotations in Washington. I was hoping to find some in the Seattle area if possible (I am an East Coast student and know there are several PA's programs close by.) Didn't think it could hurt to put some feelers out there and see what comes of it. I am specifically looking to do my electives in Cardiac Surgery and Pulmonary Critical Care. However, I would be willing to do any of my rotations out there. I was hoping to do my electives there because that is my field of interest postgrad and Seatte is on the shortlist for moving s/p school. We are also looking in the Portland and Denver areas, so any connections you might have there would be helpful as well! Again, any help/advice is appreciated. Thanks!!
  3. I appreciate the response. Not what I wanted to hear, but what I expected to hear. I am still hopeful... May do some cold calling, worst anyone can say is no. Any other input or advice is appreciated, I am also open to the possibility of other locations in the state.

  13. wannabe, thank you for your reply. ALL help is appreciated. I've axed the conclusion and decided not to mention my grades, I'll address this in the interview if it's asked. I am eliminating much of the second paragraph as well. I didn't mean for it to sound like a job description, I was aiming to mention qualities that are found in PA's that I have a strong foundation for. For what it's worth, I was an ERT and am now a nurse. They do train us to interpret common radiologic studies and make treatments plans, but agree this should not be the highlight of the paragraph. I will tame this down and make it more collaborative. I really appreciate your comments and look forward to posting a 2nd draft, hopefully tomorrow sometime. Thanks again!
