  1. I work for a spine surgeon in Oregon and my call bonus is $100/day (weekday or weekend is the same) and an additional $100 if we physically have to go in and operate. That being said, my call is setup in a way that my surgeon takes all new consult calls and I take any calls on existing patients from clinic who call the answering service, or patients who are currently admitted to the hospital. Hope this helps.
  2. Hey everyone, I just wanted to go ahead and start a thread for those of us who are starting the program in August. I'm making the move from Florida, so I obviously have a fair amount of planning ahead of me. Does anyone know the exact start date for the program? I can't find much by way of the website. I'm really excited to meet everyone! It's starting to feel real ever since that $500 deposit left my account.... Guess I should get used to being broke.... And cold.
  3. AH! I got accepted! Got the email yesterday, which was a huge surprise because if I recall correctly, they said we wouldn't hear until Monday. Best day ever.
  4. Hey all! I was invited to interview at the St Pete campus next Friday (October 17th.) Apparently a spot opened up and they asked me to fill it since I'm relatively close (in Orlando.) Obviously I'm excited, but also a little nervous and trying to do as much research on the program as I can in the next few days. Are any of you interviewing that day?
  5. Well I just got the email that I wasn't selected. Good luck to the rest of you!
  6. Lindsey emailed me back and said we will know by the end of the week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I emailed Lindsey today just to ask if she knew when we might be hearing. I'll let you all know if and when she responds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Still haven't heard anything regarding last Wednesday's interview. This can't be good. Has anyone heard anything either way at this point? I'm thinking of calling but wondering how much time I should allow before I do that. They did say 72 hours, right? I didn't imagine that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I was really excited this morning, then got nervous around lunch time and now am just a little deflated. The one thing keeping hope alive for me at this point is the fact that no one has posted saying they were accepted yet. (This is not to be interpreted as you should not alert us if you are accepted. Honesty is the best policy.) From the looks of last year's message board, acceptance calls went out around noon on the Friday after the Wednesday interviews. Patience is a virtue.
  10. Any word either way from those that interviewed on Wednesday?
  11. Hi hanhd, Let me preface by saying that I had a LOT of fun in my undergraduate career. That being said, Overall GPA: 3.4 Science GPA: 3.1 GRE: 310 Fortunately, I have some other elements that I think strengthen my application. I have a Masters in Clinical Nutrition and have been working as a Registered Dietitian at a Level 1 trauma center in Florida for almost four years. (HCE ~8000 hrs) I have also done some medical mission work in Africa and Nicaragua, and I volunteer at a free health clinic locally where I've accrued 200 hours or so. I'm sure that those facets of my application are what got me an interview, not my lackluster GPA. I hope this helps! J
  12. Hey all, I wanted to let everyone know that I received an invite to interview last Friday. It took some tweaking, but Kaye and I were finally able to settle on a date- November 3rd. I'm looking forward to heading up there again and getting a second go at it. Has anyone else scheduled November 3rd? My experience last year was such a positive one -aside from the whole not getting accepted aspect- that I don't even mind having to go back and go through it again. The campus is BEAUTIFUL and ATL is the bee's knees. The program is really impressive and they put out some top-notch PAs. Something they emphasized during the interviews was how their clinical rotations are really job interviews for many students. This is a HUGE benefit. Emory's hospital is extremely prestigious and any job prospects there would be incredible.
  13. Thanks for the luck, Lindsey. I'll take all of that I can get. To answer your question, I submitted July 1st. From what I read on the forums from last year, the interview is very relaxed. They start out with a tour and a Q&A with current 1st and 2nd year students and then you interview with a faculty member and practicing PA. Apparently it's a very laid back process at Campbell, which I really appreciate. I never understood the need to make people feel uncomfortable during these things. I'm looking forward to the experience. Another thing I read is that a lot of applicants were offered acceptance within 24 hours after their interviews. That's an exceptionally quick turnaround and unique from other schools I've read about.
