    Northern Star (Pogo) LLC have a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a temporary Case Manager at our world-class Pogo operation in Alaska on a rotational camp/Fairbanks schedule.

    What’s the role?

    The Case Manager reports to the OHS Superintendent, and the primary role is to ensure the health of all workers through the delivery of proactive welfare management and administration functions across Northern Star operations.  

     Duties include: 

     ·       Provide health services to our employees with a focus on prevention, assessment, risk reduction and health status improvement for our workforce.

    ·       Coordinate the management of employees returning to work by regularly liaising with the employees, attending practitioners and other occupational health service providers as needed

    ·       Collate medical data to track medical progress for communicable disease and other occupational health related issues

    ·       Maintain accurate and detailed records/files at all times

    ·       Ensure that the health and hygiene reporting requirements meet internal and external requirements

    ·       Display a clear commitment to safety and health and seek to eliminate or control the risks of injury and/or damage to equipment

     

    The Details:

    Working a 4 days on, 3 days off or 5 days on, 2 days off schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote camp site and in Fairbanks, Alaska (depending on the needs of the department). This is a six-month fixed term position. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

    Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.

    Qualifications:

    What are we looking for?

    You’ll be a highly organized individual who will display behaviour consistent to our Northern Star Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Results, looking to work with the business for the long term and be an integral part in its future growth and development. 

    The specifics:

    ·       Graduate of an accredited PA program, Nurse Practitioner Program or Bachelors of Science in Nursing

    ·       Nationally registered EMS Certification

    ·       Current Basic Life Support & Advance Cardiac Life Support Certification

    ·       Two or more years working in a remote setting preferred

    ·       Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices

    ·       Excellent Computer literacy – Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Power Point)

    ·       Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem-solving skills.

    ·       Valid Driver's License required.

    ·       Good communication skills.

    ·       Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.

    ·       Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.
