  1. and your dog has not gotten covid, so therefore it works. It also repels alligators as there have been none in your house recently...

  2. I have decided to give up my interview. I hope this opens up a spot for another deserving applicant! Good luck everyone on your PA journey!

  3. I emailed and asked. I’ll let y’all know if there is a response.

  4. To be blunt, this is one of the best universities in the US. Moreover, the PA program class size is small (36). I interviewed there and they focus a significant portion of one interview on grades/academics; this was different from other places I interviewed with PCE varies in quality; a MA/CNA doesn’t compare to a flight medic or respiratory therapist. 1600 hours is definitely on the low side though (or less than a year of work). To be honest, who knows what most of these places are looking for. I was rejected pre-interview from brand new and what I thought would be “backup” school

  5. A little over 400k Americans died in WW2 and we are approaching that number fast. But yeah...it's a hoax...it's just like the flu...it will go away "like a miracle". This has been the biggest failure of a presidential administration in the history of this country and it has cost Americans hundreds of thousands of deaths. And while hospitals are getting crushed right now....our president golfs. Nothing else...just golfs. Disgusting.

  6. Now, having had COVID-19 and surviving, I am eager to get my vaccination in the next month when they call my age group. My doctor said that I can take it thirty days post illness and that my present status does not provide me immunity from re-infection. Too many people are to eager to decide on limited information that having been infected means that you can do indoor dining and forget about social distance because you possess immunity. Some people have antibodies and others don not therefore I am protecting the public and my family by being a good citizen and following the rules.

  7. I know it's killing me too! I'm going to be an anxious mess on the 8th & until we all hear back! I like that they will tell us all simultaneously though. Although I really really hope I get accepted, I am trying my best to trust the process & remind myself that everything happens for a reason! We all are going to go to be great PA's one day, no matter where or when that is Don't give up hope people! We can do this!

  9. Commendable that you're wanting to put others before yourself, but if you get covid and you're out two weeks or more, you're putting your coworkers in a real bind. Plus, think of all the patients that are counting on you too. And your loved ones. Accepting your spot at the front of the line isn't selfish. It's putting on an extra piece of armor for battle. The world needs more people like you, willing to put others over self, but IMHO take your turn when it comes.

  10. Hey, everyone! I received an acceptance call today around 3pm. I was in the first round of interviews... don’t give up hope! Good luck to everyone else waiting!

  12. Excuse me sir, I'll have you know our President is on the phones working very hard to steal the election. Have some faith!

  13. yes, sounds that way. I think they're waiting to hear back from the ones that have been accepted and then send out waitlists if needed.. But definitely if you haven't interviewed they will not be extending invitations to interview anymore. I interviewed and haven't heard back so I'm taking it as a rejection based on the way the email was worded.

  14. They said they would send out all their results simultaneously. So everyone will find out at the same time if they are accepted/rejeted/waitlisted.

  15. Hi! Thanks for reaching out! I know I am a little late to respond BUT finals took it out of me! I don't think there is much I would change or do differently what could have made my experience better. The biggest thing I would change is to not stress out about starting school. There are so many uncertainties and you are going to have a ton of questions and that is OKAY!!!!!! The staff will answer all of your questions come orientation and they really go above and beyond for you once classes start, so try your best not to stress about the little things! You can also reach out to the upper

  16. Hi everyone! I reached out to Leslie and she said that a FB group will be created once they fill all of their seats for the CO 2023. Congrats again to those accepted and good luck to everyone still waiting to hear back/preparing to interview this month

  18. congrats!!! I am hoping to hear back for an interview soon! Penn State is a top school for me. How long after your interview did you find out? I would like to know as well.

  19. As far as I know they don't. Maybe all that interview.. but I haven't heard that to be true and in past years there have been several that commented they were declined.

  23. Maybe this was what I was thinking of. I seem to recall that he was one of those at the annual Eagles EMS conference in Dallas w/ UTSW that didn’t have an issue with the non-transport decision. I know I’ve brought it up in the past, but when things get back to a semblance of normal and you have CME bucks to spend and are in EM/EMS, treat yourself to attending this conference once and be on the cutting edge of decision making and new ideas in this field.

  24. I think my counter argument is there is no promise that your vaccine will go to someone who needs it more. You have an important place in the food chain and, when the fickle wheel of fortune called "the system", says it's your turn... go get the vaccine. The distribution is far from perfect but it is the system we have. You have noble ideals but they may not actually play out in reality.

  25. I submitted on 12/04 and haven't heard back. I called the admissions office yesterday and they said not to worry, and that they are working on them. They also said it should be in the next few weeks that I hear back.

  26. Tibial tuberosity fracture type 2B (3B?). Call ortho for ORIF. NWB in cast for 4-6 weeks. Rehab for 3 months. Alternatively - give them Motrin and tell them to change their socks.

  27. I was more struck by the multiple hours EMS crews are waiting in ED parking lots to bring patients inside. That will totally kill a department's ability to respond to 911 calls.

  28. Saw Marc Eckstein (LA Fire Med Dir./former FDNY paramedic) on ABC News tonight and I was surprised to hear him say that they hadn’t ever gone to a non-ROSC/terminate care policy like some other municipalities. I think we all know that trauma CPR cases essentially don’t survive. I frankly don’t have an issue with this policy even in a non-COVID/divert setting. I didn’t hear anything about field O2 rationing though I have heard it mentioned previously. One guy tonight, waiting on a bed, said he was fortunate to have gotten O2 via NC. What a mess. One of the major health networks here in N.

  35. I definitely did not get that email. I have to accommodate an hour or so during work to makeup my missed session. If this is true, that’s quite discouraging and unfair to others who have to make up their interviews.

  37. I saw on last year's forum that 4 or 5 got pulled off the waitlist! Don't lose hope yet. We had to pay our seat deposit by January 4th so people may start getting pulled off shortly

  38. Good luck to everyone who has an interview in the next few weeks!! Hang in there if you didn’t get an interview because they can send you an interview invite at anytime! UT PAM is an exceptional program, the absolute best in my opinion coming from a current UT student.

  41. Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!! I interviewed on 11/11 and have not heard back. Re-applicant too. I really felt like my interview went poorly so I’m not getting my hopes up. It took a lot of thinking but this will be the end of my PA journey if I do not get in this year. Congrats again to the class of 2023. I wish you all the best in your journey to becoming a PA-C, and in the profession.

  43. I have to respectfully disagree. Quinnipiac was one of my top schools. The professors I interviewed with were amazing and so were the students and everyone I interviewed with. #15/238 is a great accomplishment and they are still a top 20 school. The reason I'm not attending Quinnipiac is because I have decided to go to med school instead. If I was still on the PA route, I would be at Quinnipiac this spring and I will definitely be applying there for medical school.

  44. Yes, I received the same email as well. I honestly do not see it as positive news. I applied at the end of May so I believe there were more competitive applicants compared to me. It is weird because I got this email although I did not get an interview. But we should just stay positive and hope for the best!

  45. I got my acceptance call yesterday, and I got the email today!!! Congrats to everyone else who was also accepted. I personally felt that my interview did not go too well, so do not count yourself out yet. Best of luck to everyone!
