  3. Washington state just rolled back to heavier restrictions because cases are skyrocketing. One Congresswoman stated her “disappointment” with the governor’s decisions. Seriously? She can put on a flimsy mask and hang out in the ERs. She will say anything against the governor. She has NO expertise in anything to comment. At least the governor has a state health doctor he listens to. We all know this is devastating to the economy but creating long haulers with disabilities and families with dead earners is worse in my opinion. Dead people don’t contribute to the economy if you wan

  4. I was pulled off the waitlist Friday and offered a seat in this program. I had already submitted a deposit to another school but will forfeit my seat there to stay in state and go to CMU! I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the class

  6. Just declined my acceptance as I was also accepted to the Glendale campus. Hopefully one of you will be getting a phone call soon. I like chipotle gift cards by the way!

  7. Anyone else not letting their phone out of sight? Some schools after calling some people don’t even call the rest of the people and just send an email of acceptance after giving them a heart attack hahaha

  8. I was offered a position on the alternate list on Friday and I accepted the position today. The email said they have made all of their decisions. Hope this helps anyone who is waiting on an answer.

  9. Hey everyone. I went through the whole forum and it seems like they are giving interviews out of order. Some people were sent interviews and then accepted days later when they applied really late, and some people applied in May and haven't even received interviews yet. Kind of frustrating, as there are only a limited amount of seats. I applied 06/20 and was verified 07/13. They are still giving interviews out through December?

  10. My main point of disagreement in the entirety of this thread was the idea that psych is all about wrestling patients and/or managing violent patients in the ED. That makes up *random number generator* like 2% of psychiatry. And with that...let's get this thread back on track or we can start a new one. My state is starting to shut down again, 80% of my ICU is COVID, quarantine recommended for people coming into the state...it's getting ugly.

  11. And again you're missing the point that there is an entire specialty dedicated to psychiatry. Do you think all that they do is manage acute psychotic breaks? I disagree that the training EMS received in psych makes them qualified to effectively manage psychiatric issues in the field. That is why there has been a continued push in many regions to have caseworkers, counselors and behavioral specialists respond to prehospital psychiatric issues.

  16. Hey everyone, I created this list of schools for those of us who did poorly in college when we were kids and have desires to be PA's. The list consists of the following: School name, CGPA, SGPA, PrereqGPA, and HCE hours. I don't know if this is ALL of the schools, but it was all of the ones I could find and I looked at pretty much every PA program. I hope this helps some of you out in your application process. If any one knows of other schools you can comment below and I will add them. Best of luck to all. https://docs.google.com/document/d/10DB5YytgTE6oOarGVgJQ_1Mm8Jj6g5J8eS1-yRj1C

  23. We need to look at the history of the pandemic in the Spring and realize that non-essential surgery was prohibited as were other procedures such as in radiology and cardiology. We are at the highest levels ever and the buzzword is that we are in terrifying times and have not seen this type of disease in America before. It would have been nice for the federal government to have worked on this over the past six months. Nero played the violin while Rome burned and Trump played golf while this disaster took place. Inexcusable.

  31. After not getting an interview in 2012 and 2013, I met with the admissions coordinator at the time (I live in San Antonio). His advice was I gain patient care experience, increase my volunteer hours and retake any courses that I made C's. I had only my bachelors then, so it was hard to show significant academic growth and improvement. My undergrad GPA wasn't strong, like 3.1 something and a 3.2 science GPA, plus a poor GRE and minimal experiences probably greatly affected my interview chances then. It's now been a 7 year gap since I last applied in 2013. I obtained a master's in nutrition and

  32. I just wanted to say a huge congratulations on everyone who was accepted this cycle! I know each of you worked so hard to get where you are, and I wish you the best of luck in school and in your future as a PA! I have enjoyed checking this page (almost daily) since May and have met some wonderful people through this forum! For all of us sitting on the waitlist: I know it has been so stressful, emotional and nerve-wracking waiting months on a possible call. Don’t give up hope. Learn from your interviews and feedback everyone has given. They saw something special in us to offer us an interview.

  35. Anyone know how many more interview sessions are going to take place? I've gotten interviews and acceptances from other schools but UTSW is my first choice and I haven't heard anything from them yet.

  36. Well I just received my declination email....sucks I had to wait over 3 months for another No when I thought the interview went so well, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be, but I'm kind of not surprised because of the length of time it took. My time will come though somewhere else. Congrats to all those that were accepted. You all will make amazing PA-C's!!!

  38. I highly recommend Magoosh since they have videos and a lot of practice problems. I also used the 5lb book of GRE practice problems by manhattan prep. The book is broken into specific topics in math like stats, word problems, etc and has about 25-30 questions per chapter. I didn't really utilize the book for the verbal part as I was more comfortable in that area, so I don't remember how the verbal is split up. I was nervous prepping as I am not a huge fan of math and I do better with someone in front of me explaining math, however the videos on Magoosh are thorough and you can ask questions an

  40. So, this year I helped out at the 11/7 interviews. I don't believe I interviewed any of you who posted here, but I did for six folks. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and security and whatnot, this is the first year I wasn't able to review the full files of the applicants like I had done in years past--just a summary. This makes me a bit sad, because it's actually really cool to read the applicant statements, see the PCE/HCE, and grades, and just imagine all the hard work people have put in to get to this point. At any rate, as I've said with the last several years' candidates, the interview

  41. Congratulations on your acceptance; that is huge!! I was just curious; are you able to choose which campus location you will be doing your MPH and MMS, or is that pre-assigned to you upon your acceptance into the dual degree program? I just had my interview and I am anxiously awaiting my admissions decision!

  46. hello! I got accepted to the Leesburg campus too! I got an email saying that there will be a FB group but I have yet to get an invite or notification about it. It's been a few weeks since I was told that there'd be a group. Maybe they are waiting for more acceptances before starting it?

  47. Hey all, current student of MBKU here (graduating in one week) when I applied in 2017 I did not hear until mid to late November and I was an early applicant. I know you're all very anxious and excited, just be patient they will get to you. And enjoy the free time before beginning school because it won't exist once you start!

  48. I am still on the list... Curious about this as well.
    1 point
  49. It is a yes and a no. From last cycle, every applicant that applied before September 1st, will get a response at around November either with an interview invite, rejection, or MBKU will push your application review later with the rest of the applicants. So in this respect, it isnt rolling. Now, after that first round of interviews, it is rolling admissions with applicants that submitted after September 1st and those who had their application review delayed.
