  5. I emailed the financial aid office and they said "Typically we receive a list of admitted students who have submitted a deposit in December, and that prompts a communication from our office to the group with initial steps for setting up student accounts, etc." So it sounds like aid info comes out end of December/early January. I also asked a current student when they got information regarding housing/orientation and she told me middle of November. Hope that helps!

  6. I emailed the financial aid asking when we’re supposed to submit the FAFSA. They responded: “You will need the 2021-22 FAFSA completed by the time you apply with additional forms (Aid Type Request Form) which will be in January 2021. We will send more information to the new class when the date draws closer.“

  9. Hi all! I just wanted to let all of you waitlisters know that I was on the interview waitlist last year, was given an interview, and was accepted, so do not give up hope!! We can't wait to (virtually) meet all of you soon! - Leah, BCM PA-S1

  10. I interviewed in September, and I also sent thank you notes. I’m starting to feel a bit hopeless too. They said they send out most of their acceptances in November and December though right? We got this y’all. We’ll just try to hold onto hope.

  11. All of this, plus don't quit your job search. You're still looking and not committed anywhere, so you owe them no loyalty if you get a better job offer before they get off their butts.

  13. Nothing yet on my end! I think they send invites to everyone on the same day so it should literally be within the next 4 days - that’s my guess.

  16. It’d be unfair to those who’ve already interviewed and haven’t heard back yet, to discuss what the interviewers emphasized.

  22. I don't think its nuts. Not only has COVID consumed our personal and professional lives it has made us subject to the control of untold numbers of "experts". It might be nice to be in an environment where you have some control of how things are done.

  24. I've not seen this (EMS experience in particular paramedic experience) being seen as a strong plus for admission to PA programs. Even on these boards there's at least 1 PA program faculty member who isn't at all positive on paramedics as PA students. When I went to PA school the most common demographic was a ~ 24 y/o/f current athletic trainer with some ortho experience. On the other hand, in my experience it's the former fire service (or other 911 service) medics who are most eager to dive into the higher acuity patients in EM and are excited by the most gnarly injuries and procedures. 25. I can relate to so much of all of this.... I find something that is interesting and unique to us providers and something I'd call "awareness fatigue". I (and we) are hyper-aware of covid, at all times, it never goes away. Whether I'm at work or at home I am constantly thinking about which patients or people I should have a higher suspicion for. I'm not comfortable hanging out with large groups of people, and often times not even small groups of people, even outside. There has been a massive hit to my families social life whereas so many of my friends and family members had begun to relive thei

  27. Hey guys! A lot of schools are delaying the start of winter semester due to COVID. So they are cancelling spring breaks & starting later. The other school I was accepted too was supposed to start Jan 12 & will now be Jan 19. One of my friends in GVSU DPT program just had the same thing happen as well as one of my friends in Westerns OT program! Just a heads up, there is a good chance that will happen! (Maybe not the worst case since everyone will know so last minute lol)

  30. I got my acceptance! Call came in on Thursday around 10 am and I have never been so excited in my life! I interviewed on 9/22 in the AM slot. Below are my stats: CASPA submitted and verified early June. GRE - 151 verbal, 149 quant, 4.0 analytical GPA 3.47, sGPA 3.29. 2000 PC hours as a scribe at a primary care clinic, 6000 HC hours as an application analyst working with providers on clinic workflow and clinical EMR setup for improved processes. About a 200 hours in clinical volunteering and shadowing, combined. Also had 4+ years volunteering as a mentor for refug

  39. I did this job for two years. I got 10% over base pay plus any hours worked at straight pay outside of normal shifts. I stopped doing it because it was too hard on the circadian rhythm. I worked a lot of swing shifts that were 3p-1a then and all the meetings were at 7-10 am, followed by, you guessed it another swing shift. . PS writing a schedule for 12 people sucks because you end up scheduling yourself last and get whatever is left after everyone else gets their cme, vacations, etc. I did this as a 110%+ FTE, not reasonably scheduled to include admin time. 41. The last time I heard there was about 15 in the class. In our last email they said they are still conducting interviews and hope you finalize the class in the next week or so. I hope this helps! I know the waiting game is tough.

  46. I am on the alternate accepted list, I sent them an "application update" and they said they would reach out if they needed any additional info and if I was accepted they would need official transcripts. From my understanding, the alternate acceptance list will start hearing back once all the interviews are complete. My interview session 7/29 had 20 ish people. I feel like I remember reading the seat deposit is $250 when accepted then $1000 in February

  49. This is from the informational session: Q: I read that the waitlist is also rolling basis. Does this mean whoever accepts a spot on the waitlist first will be selected before someone who accepts a spot on the waitlist later on? Renee Langstaff-PA-C A: Not necessarily. We use an objective means to score each applicant and rely on those scores to put out offers.
