  3. Hi everyone! I know it's so stress-inducting to wait right now! To my knowledge, invitations to interview have not gone out yet. However, the admissions team is very organized. They run a tight ship, so take heart! It will be sent soon. In the meantime, here is the corrected URL for the current class demographics for your viewing pleasure. The URL on the website isn't working. https://medicine.utah.edu/dfpm/physician-assistant-studies/program/files/class-51-composite-demographics.pdf

  4. At least one thing we can probably all agree on is that we will never degenerate to the level of SDN.

  5. Any way to provide the gist of the article or a summary? I was absolutely shocked to find that I have used up all of my free national review articles. I blame you.

  6. La Clinic: $54/hr. 10 paid holidays = $4320. 2 weeks vacation = $4320 144 hours of sick leave (that's over 3 weeks, you sure that's right?) = $7776 And CME time is $4320. That's $20,736 worth of time OFF you get. Bass: $67/hr. No paid holidays. 4 sick days = $2144. 80 hours PTO = $5360, for total of $7504 worth of time off. Add that $13K difference to the La Clinic pay and it comes pretty close to making up the difference in pay. Sounds like you have enough time off to get a 2nd job as well (you are in so much debt you should work as much as you can!). I wouldn't count on g

  7. I really appreciate that UT recognizes the last 60 as important, so many students change study habits and enter more productive states by end of college career, in my opinion last 60 is a far better reflection of future capability in masters programs rather than overall. Wish you guys the best and hope we all hear great news soon!

  8. Received an interview invite this morning! They let you pick your own interview date starting in the beginning of November all the way through February. Best wishes to all, hoping more good news comes soon! I submitted in early June btw.

  11. Also just commenting as a place holder. I applied to a dozen schools in CA but my fiancé just got orders to Tampa unexpectedly (we knew it could be a possibility). UT was one of my top choices and now is my #1. Really really hoping for the best. My stats are as follows: CGPA 3.2 CSGPA 3.0 (this includes 30 credits with 4.0 post Bach GPA) Last 60 credits are about a 3.7 or so Dual science degrees BA/BS 4000+ hours paid in (human) research at a hospital. Working directly with patient care teams. 300+ hours volunteering 60 hours shadowing a PA Good-

  17. I don't know if this year will be different. With COVID who knows? Traditionally all the invitations are sent at the same time.

  18. I believe UPAP will inform all interview candidates at one time. Especially during these interview times just in case there are complications with the interview date scheduled. I know they are willing to work around other interview dates if you have a different interview scheduled with a different school and that would not be possible if they only told you one date without extended notice.

  20. Great question, I have not heard rejection or an interview opportunity yet. I just emailed the program to see if I could get an update on my application status and to see if they will send correspondence for rejections. I will update my response when I get it!

  25. Congratulations! I've been seeing you post in most of the Chicago-based schools, and wait, and wait. I got "waitlisted to interview" here but have happily been accepted other places. I'm rooting for you! Good luck!

  26. Just something to keep in mind - there are several current and former students in the FB group (probably at least 10), plus some staff members. There could definitely be some students who have accepted seats but not in the group, but with 54 seats, there’s definitely still a chance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  27. Thank you! There are 3 mini interview sessions, each 20 minutes long. I thought the interviews were very comfortable and that everybody was just trying to get a feel for who you are and why this is the profession you’ve chosen. Just be yourself and I am sure you will do fantastic! Good luck!

  35. @DanaJur hey, I can relate to your post so much. I also got a rejection email today. And I don’t have that many more programs to hear from compared to the 20 schools I applied too this cycle. Really frustrating as none of the programs have commented on what I can do to improve my application. They just tell me to apply to other programs... I’ve done everything i can to prepare the last four years and don’t see my self doing anything else. honestly, I started crying at work yesterday because I don’t want to clean shit for the rest of my life and I’m tired of getting pulled to sit (nurse tech pr

  36. Good luck to everyone out there anxiously waiting. I am still waiting to hear back as well, but best of luck to you all and congrats to those who have interviewed and have already been accepted! It probably feels really good!! I hear Pacific is a great program and I hope to have a chance at an interview!

  41. Ummmm unless you're getting amazing compensation this structure is completely ridiculous. You either need a serious bump in compensation or additional time off during the week you pull weekends. You're losing time with your family, friends and loved ones. You're losing time with yourself. You're losing a LOT. Time spent on call should also be compensated or at least delineated in the contract. Remember, this solo practitioner is reaping all the benefits from you being on call and covering those weekends. He/She is getting compensated for your time, why aren't you?

  42. The most strait forward reporting I have seen in the last couple of years has been from (you're gonna hate this) AlJazeera. When I read their articles it is mostly like old school news reporting. Here is what happened...not much fluff or spin. In any case that was a bit of a rabbit hole. I have pretty much stopped reading anything about COVID because it is impossible to sort truth from the manure. I figure someone will call me when it is over.

  48. The program is amazing!! Honestly, the best advice I can give is be yourself during interviews. I know that sounds cliche, but for this program it really matters. If you get an interview, then they already like you on paper. During interviews they mostly want to know who you are and what type of provider you would be. They are really big on our mission statement so make sure you know what we are all about! Good luck!! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  49. I agree with everything you said. I truly did feel discriminated against as an older applicant. I first applied to PA school in summer 2017. In my personal essay I left out the fact that I am married and have two children. I applied to 7 schools, got interviews at every one, attended 6 interviews, and got accepted to 0 programs. By April 2018 I was beyond discouraged and didn't even want to go through the process all over again. I researched more programs, took a third psychology course required by a few programs I had not applied to before, and starting volunteering at a the local free
