  1. Politics aside. There is a lower age limit to be president (36). I would impose an upper age limit as well, tied to social security eligibility age. Sure, there are some folks who are super bright at 90, but I would imagine they were sharper at 65. Would also apply it to supreme court judges and create a reasonable term limits structure for congress. There have been folks who served close to 50 years in congress before, like this fellow: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strom_Thurmond. That was not the intent of the framers of the constitution. Jefferson believed folks should serve a defined ter

  2. I just wanted to reach out of on the forum as I still haven't received any communication from the program about the status of my application. Does anyone know if rejection emails have gone out already? It just seems strange to me that the program would wait till after interview week to send out rejection emails.

  5. Hey Y'all! My name is Jesse and I'm from the Class of 2022. I've attached a flyer of some of the activities that we are doing in celebration of PA week. Just wanted to mention that we will be hosting a Zoom session on Thursday, October 8th from 5-6PM. I believe there's a cap on how many zoom participants are allowed in each session so make sure you register. It'll be a Q&A style forum where you can ask us whatever you want and we'll do our best to answer your questions. See below for the link to register: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJYpdu-przsrH9K_B3AHf_42h0vSf9x-ZQ-O?fbclid=I

  8. I am stepping out on this one. Boats and Camoman are way out there - not a discussion - a lecture. I will continue to wear a mask and do smart things. I will vote how I wish. Science is still real and needs a boost right now. Good day to everyone.

  10. I called admissions last week and spoke with Stacy who was super helpful. I had called not to ask about my status but to ask when we can expect to here back considering it’s been 16 weeks for me since getting the welcome letter. she confirmed with me they are super behind on apps bc one person is reading them as someone else had already mentioned. She actually asked for my name and told me I am almost at the end of the review process and can expect to hear back this week! For those wondering I applied June 3rd, verified June 8th, and welcome letter received June 17th! Keep hanging in there eve

  11. Does anyone else find the brigade of healthcare "professionals" trotted out to stand around stupidly in white coats during these media updates as off-putting as I do? As someone who cares for COVID patients, and just patients in general, I cannot imagine in my wildest dreams a hospital culture that encourages that kind of useless attention-whoring. Distasteful.

  14. I'm not seeing a diagnosis in that tweet. Looks like an observation to me. It isn't all that hard to tell if someone is short of breath or in pain on television... One does not need to be in the same room to see that.

  15. "APPLIED - UNDER REVIEW BY PROGRAM" It will likely stay at this status until next Fall unless you were formally accepted and confirmed your acceptance. I was rejected last cycle and it was changed to "DECISION MADE" in early September when the program had already begun. It was showing as "applied - under review by program" even well after I was emailed a rejection.

  22. During the informational sessions of interview I took notes and I just went back and read them. I wrote that they told us to “give us one to two weeks, then we will meet and discuss who we will accept and waitlist”. I don’t know if that wording made anyone else feel more reassured about the timing, but as soon as I read that I felt better about not hearing anything yet. Hopefully we will be getting some calls / emails this week! Good luck everyone!!!

  31. I just received an email that says this "Dear Kendall, Thank you for your interest in the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Physician Assistant Program. We have completed the first review of your file. You have met all of the prerequisite requirements. If you have any pending or "in progress" coursework, it must be completed before enrollment. It, therefore, means that at the time of entry into our PA Program, you must, at a minimum, have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college. Your file will now be processed further for interview consideration. A panel of

With no apologies, no self responsibility, no acknowledgement of how many people he put in harm's way and no gratitude for the Secret Service who have put up with more than enough from this doddering old fool. 35. It sounds like at some point he should have signed over presidential authority to Pence, if only for 24 hrs or so. We know at this point that he was hypoxic and "not clearly out of danger". For a brief period of time he was not at 100%. America deserves a president who is at 100%. If China invaded Taiwan and the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff calls the president, he should be able to elucidate a valid response. Both Reagan and Bush(Sr), signed over authority briefly when they had procedures lasting less than 1 hr for just this reason. At a minute's notice, the president needs to be abl

  39. Hi All, Congrats on your upcoming interview! I am the current didactic class president at Seattle and during my interview last year an accepted student reached out and it was amazing insight for going into interview day. I would be happy to join in on the pre-zoom (I will also be on your student panel on interview day) to help calm any nerves or answer general questions. I know this years format will be different but MEDEX is super organized when it comes to online learning so I'm sure it will be fairly similar just with more technology! Anyways feel free to reach out! Michelle

  45. I can't see them NOT keeping it in some form: less odious, and they don't have to revenue share with the testing centers. I don't expect a formal decision will be announced until 2021, but I know they've had issues with the PANCE being administered when testing centers are closed for Covid... Full speed ahead on the PANRE replacement pilot.
