  2. I agree but my concern is a bit greater. My cousin is in PA school in Miami, FL and supposed to graduate this summer of 2020. However, due to COVID-19 her class had to postpone classes and clinicals and we’re doing everything online. They are now being told that they cannot graduate because they have not met certain criterias. This pandemic is nobody’s fault!!! They should have come up with a plan for this situation I get scared something like this will happen!

  5. Still considered one of the best books ever written. My son said it changed his professional life.... Written in 1930's I believe. https://www.amazon.com/How-Win-Friends-Influence-People/dp/1439167346/ref=tmm_hrd_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1590981388&sr=8-1
  6. Hello everyone- I am looking for some general advice on books/webinars that you guys have used to have better communication at the workplace with your managers. I feel that often times managers don’t look into who you really are and how hard you work and because of things like things we find roadblocks in opportunities to move up the ladder or get the highest raise, etc. I see that there is a lot of favoritism and some of these favoritism goes to people that simply know how to behave and what things to say as oppose to how hard they work. Are there any books on leadership or emotional intelligence that you guys recommend to better understand how to behave and move ahead in the workplace? How to be tactical I suppose? Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. DFW is a terrible market. Just terrible.
  8. Hi all! Can anyone give advice about what they wrote about for UW's "optional personal essay?" This is the only thing that I feel really stuck on, as it is very vague and can literally be about anything! They say don't replicate or replace any info from CASPA personal statement and want to know you outside goal to become a PA. so I am confused as to what they really want to know. Hobbies? Is this autobiographical? Any responses would be greatly appreciated! thank you
  9. Yeah. This isn't the only school that I have had no confirmation with
  10. Lol I'd take a thanks for applying. Neurotically checking my emails every 20 minutes.
  11. Welcome @anthrobiologist! Sounds like a great background to have! Best of luck!
  12. When does the first round of interviews typically take place? How many weeks was it before you received an interview invitation?
  13. Nope. Not a thing. New week, new month. Hoping to hear something lol
  14. Did they email you back yet? Same thing happened to me! I also applied to dual MPH/PA!! Good luck!
  15. Anyone receive any confirmation/supplemental ?
  16. Hey guys! Currently waitlisted from last cycle but reapplied just to be safe. I wish you all the best!
  17. I am a new PA (graduated in August 2019) and I’ve been working at a VA emergency department for 9 months now. I’ve been looking for a job in the DFW area for six months now without any luck. I’ve applied to 50+ jobs without any interviews or job offers. What am I doing wrong? Is it usually this difficult for a new PA to get a job in an urban area like DFW? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  18. You already basicslly said it lol...more PCE, good LORs and the best PS you can come up with. Apply to different "levels" of schools for you. As in dont apply for all reach schools, spread the love lol
  19. Thanks and most of the schools ive applied to have no GRE requirements. If there is any more advice or recommendations you could offer that would be greatly appreciated
  20. You should be okay if the schools do not have a GRE minimum or don't want it all all. Also, if the schools accept the explanation for the 2.45 and withdrawal.
  21. I thought this program didn't require the MCAT.

  23. I was in grad school for nuclear medicine technology. I haven't taken classes since then and im currently working on my phlebotomy certification to help with more direct patient care hours. as far as my GPA now im sure it would be the same since i haven't taken classes since then. I'm just hopping my personal statement, other essays, and direct patient care, shadowing, etc shows past that.
  24. thats what I thought. I just wanted to make sure
  25. So what were you in grad school for? And what is your GPA now?
