  3. If you didn't live in a low income area or have a fairly low income house hold then I don't believe it will be a big deal. I'm pretty sure that's the main reason for it. Sometimes that along with being the first to go to college may give some people a slight advantage during application. Now I may be wrong, but this is what I believe it was for.
  4. Verified 5/27, hoping for supplemental application! Has anyone received receipt of application from the university?
  5. Hello! I submitted my CASPA during the second week of May but then I started seeing facebook posts in regards to how important it is to include a section for the childhood residency section. I submitted my application with that section blank because I felt that there wasn't much to say? I grew up in a suburban area in a condo with my direct family and that was pretty much it. Since I already submitted there is unfortunately no way to edit or ask CASPA to change it(Im assuming ) Do you think this would affect my chances at all? TIA
  6. Submitted earlier this month, haven't heard anything just yet, best of luck to everyone!
  7. I have't heard back from either campus, but I spoke with an admissions counselor who said he saw my application on his end. I think, like many schools, they're a little delayed in beginning to review apps because of COVID.
  8. Greetings everyone! Shaun here and 2nd year applicant. I applied last year and got into 1st round of interviews at UW Seattle. Unfortunately it wasn't my time and I'll be trying again this year!

  10. Did anyone receive an email yet from Jefferson East Falls/NJ? I submitted my application 6/1 and was verified 6/2 but did not hear back. Just wanted to check in if anyone received a confirmation email or anything of the sort.
  11. I also received an interview invite today.
  12. I applied without realizing there was a difference between PCE and HCE. It doesn't look like there's a way to change it now. Is there? Any advice? I have about 2700 hours PCE marked as HCE and now I'm very worried about it.
  13. Per the CASPA Help Center, the extracurricular activities section should include "related activities you would like your selected programs to review; for example, academic clubs and competitive teams. Do not include paid work experience in this section." For example: membership/participation in high school debate team, chemistry club, sports teams, gay-straight alliance, etc. CASPA describes volunteering as "volunteer work done outside of the health care field; for example, working for Habitat for Humanity, tutoring students, participating in or working for a fundraiser walk or blood drive, etc." You are correct that qualifying activities/experiences may not be directly related to healthcare, patient care or becoming a PA. You may still wish to include such experiences though, as they may serve to illustrate other important aspects of your experience and character (e.g. civic-mindedness, teamwork, etc.). I personally would not consider hobbies performed in your free time (e.g. hiking, painting, yoga) to be qualifying experiences under either category. I would consider those simply personal interests. Hope that helps, and good luck!
  14. I wouldn't say 'mastered' but I had done several cadaver dissections in undergrad and worked in the anatomy lab. Anatomy was pretty easy for me since I at least had done a first or second pass on basically everything before starting. It was a big difference for me in workload the first semester since that's where a lot of my classmates spent a lot of time studying.
  15. Agreed but be careful about admitting being stressed out. That might make the OP an even bigger target in an already stressful time. It sounds like she's a bully/aggressor and unfortunately, there are really only a few ways to handle aggressive coworkers/supervisors, especially those with a superiority or insecurity complex. Keep record of any workplace discrimination, hostile work environment, etc, just in case it happens and HR and the hospital cares. OP, I'd recommend the above. Keep your wits about you and try to kill em with kindness. Thank her for her patience as you continue to establish your practice style and medical knowledge as a new grad. Tell her you appreciate her guidance, but because there are legal ramifications, you cannot just circumvent the attending. Put a big fat smile on your face and then it's "yes ma'am no ma'am" until it gets better or until you get a new position. Be the best damn PA and employee you can be so there's little room for error to fire you on. And then follow the below advice:
  16. A constructive discharge was behind (meaning forced out because of a hostile workplace) his resignation along with a formal complaint to the NY State Medical Boar for the organization's non-compliance with NY State PA Practice Law and cite the NP for her dismissal of the SP treatment orders ie; practicing medicine without a Medical License. We collectively are just punching dummies for far too many practices nd it's well past the time to hit back as a profession!!
  17. I just got a call from UTs admissions and received a spot in the program. I’m finally off of the waitlist!
  18. Please disregard first reply. I found it! Mine says complete the anticipation continues!
  19. I don’t recall receiving a personal URL, but did receive this. what is the personal URL?! thanks!
  20. Good luck to everyone applying! Did they email you separately in order to pay for the supplemental application?
  21. @Imani gotcha! that may be why there is a delay in a response! I think they're still trying to figure out the protocol with interviews with out of state students.
  22. Would you mind looking at my personal statement? I'm working on completing a draft by this Friday so should be able to send it over then. Congrats on your acceptance!!
  23. I agree with you about him standing up for himself, but all of us know once you lose the nurses your life is a living hell. This is gonna end one of two ways. Go down fighting and get canned, or quit before they get you.
