  1. On the bright side, looks like aapa is stepping it up... https://www.aapa.org/twocolumn.aspx?id=6442451797
  2. 15 things only people who work in the medical field will understand. It was such a normal article until #15... 15. You took a short cut. If you decided that the easy way out to get into medicine as a PA (Physician Assistant) was a good idea, you are now beginning to have second thoughts. The tough thing is that while the training was dead easy with just two years, the chances of moving up the career ladder are limited to say the least. You are always working under supervision and have practically no autonomy. The only consolation is that there is a chance to move between specialties. 3. There was a PA on the PA Facebook page who said she got 400k/yearly in derm by negotiating 40%-50% of collections.

  7. Thanks for the feedback! I also bought this one... Thought it was a little more "boring" but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
  8. Hi all. I wanted opinions on whether or not people thought this outfit was too informal for a PA school interview? Also because it is not black/navy/gray I wanted to make sure that the color isn't too out there. Thanks for your input.
  9. Where did you find the yes to two criteria? Unless I'm looking at the wrong page it says "If you can answer Yes to any of the following questions, you are considered an independent student" The only thing I am worried about is that it states "(Note: Health profession students may be required to provide parental information regardless of their dependency status.)" Is anyone able to comment further on that exception? http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/help/fftoc02k.htm
  10. Most of my HCE is from being a chiropractic assistant. I definitely consider what I did patient care and emailed all my programs to confirm and they agreed. You may want to do the same though because all schools are different.
  11. I've heard of "How to Ace the Physician Assistant School Interview" by Andrew Rodican but would love to know if anyone recommended other material for interview preparation or if this book was enough. Thanks.

  13. Online Medical Terminology through Grossmont College is way cheaper than UC San Diego. I'm enrolled in it right now.
