I was wondering if any current students at UCD can provide insight on the program's curriculum? I know the NP and PA students are all taking classes together under the School of Nursing. Do you feel like you are receiving adequate education under the medical model or is it more geared towards the nursing model? Are they teaching you how to read x-rays, how to intubate, place central lines, etc.? Do you feel prepared to graduate and practice as a provider to diagnose and treat medical conditions? I've been comparing UCD's curriculum with other PA schools and the other programs seem more comprehensive. However, since they are only descriptions about what the program is like, it would be helpful to have current or past students describe their experience. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I just recently graduated from UCI with a degree in the Social Sciences (Cumulative: GPA 3.37). I'm interested in going into the PA profession, but I need to fulfill all of the prerequisites required. I'm considering doing an informal postbacc at a CSU, but I would be much more interested in doing it at a local community college because of the costs.

Does anyone have any experience with taking ALL of the prerequisites at a community college? I've been researching around the forum and online, and have seen that some will take it and some will look down upon it.

I submitted my CASPA on the 10th and I'm still waiting for verification. 

I am currently attending UIUC in the midwest for my undergrad. I have been following UC DAVIS / Other west coast school's PA-Programs Pre-Reqs. I am an upcoming junior majoring in Community Health - Concentration Health and Administration and hopefully a minor in something (Debating between a Bio Minor or Business minor). I have officially decided that I want to do PA instead of Med-school because I will be genuinely happier and dedicated (less schooling, doing similar stuff in the hospital). I am almost done with my CNA course but am wondering how many hours (clinical hours) is recommended for the program. Should I get my Medical Assistant Certification as well? Did anyone have to take Spanish or any type of language?  I'm just very nervous about applying and don't know what to expect. Should I take a gap year to work for clinical hours? If you were accepted to the program can you share what your stats were like? (Hours, GPA, major, courses taken?)  I'm kind of new to the whole PA thing but am really into it! Thank you all!

I will be moving to California after my undergrad (It is not only for PA school but for other reasons as well).
