I submitted my application on May 15th and received an email I moved on to holistic revision on May 19th. I haven't received any more emails since and was wondering if anyone received an email if their application moved on to Admissions Committee review? I know interviews have already begun and wanted to know how frequently applicants were contacted prior to receiving an interview invitation.

These are a few specific questions for current or graduated students about the Albany Medical College program that I could not find the answers for on the website. If you could help it would be greatly appreciated. Here they are:

 

1) Was the program focused on primary care or was it surgery based?

2) Was the focus on rural or urban medicine?

3) Was there a large emphasis on community service? i.e. Courses on community service or resources for volunteering

4) Did anatomy labs have a full cadaver, prosected cadaver or was it a virtual lab?

5) Did you find courses gave you ample information to assess labs, diagnose, etc. during your clinical rotations?

So I am a little confused about the start dates.. it looks like people were already interviewed and accepted for the Jan 2013 start date.. if I am applying through CASPA right now, should I be applying for the later start date of Jan 2014? The deadline for Jan 2013 still has not passed.. it is November 2012.. so I thought it was okay to apply now, but the fact that people have already applied and gotten in is confusing me

Does the program do a good job developing students to become well-versed in the clinical settings once they graduate?

How is the atmostphere at AMC? (i.e. strict, laid back/pretty relaxed, etc)

what are the clinical rotations like? Do students have a pretty good opportunity for employment after their time with the participating practices?
