Moving Vicodin to Sched. II and tighter restrictions on PA scripts..

Recommended Posts

I just had a short conversation with a PA friend of mine who works in pain management. She mentioned that there is a proposal to move Vicodin to schedule II but also tacked onto that bill was a provision to further restrict PAs from writing for narcotics. I did some googling about and couldn't find specifics. Anyone have any input?

This was discussed on 1/26/2013 on a thread started by RCdavis called Hydrocodone probably will be CII. It was discussed on C1 as well at about the same time frame. There was a huge misunderstanding and misinterpretation by NPR on the study results, and it was carried forward by many other "news" outlets. Check it out on the threads of the two sites. It was from an advisory panel study to the DEA.
